Finger nails can’t scratch glass. Glass has a hardness of 5.5 where finger nails are 2.5. If a fingernail scratches this screen then there is a film over the glass that’s softer than glass.
I didnt realize the 401a option cars came with 255’s. Ours came with 265’s but maybe we got an option for bigger wheels and a wider tire. I’d have to look at our sheet.
Edit…. Never mind it was an option with our car. Happy to see this thread as wheels and tire fitment have never been easy...
I contact Ford Headquarters and file a complaint. This affects their rating as a dealership and that’s the only way this will get resolved. I’d also find a new dealer and never let them drive your car without you being in it.
I waited for the ppf to cure just to be safe and also in case there were any issues with the ppf. Also, you supposedly don’t need to remove the ceramic coating from the car to apply ppf. It sounds like there maybe a different way to apply the ppf according to a forum I found while searching...
This right here.👆👆👆👆
If you are getting metal particulates in the catch can from the motor, you’d know it was the motor by now and would be asking a much different set of questions.
We didn’t get it as we didn’t feel the 5 grand charge was needed. No need for a drift brake/emergency brake handle as the switch works just fine. Wider tires we didn’t need as it’s not going to be raced or tracked and costs more when replacing and you can’t rotate the tires so they wear...
Soft top 100% over a hard top. Keep the trunk space and have a convertible. This was one of the selling points for us as the top didn’t stow in the trunk. I don’t know if the hard top would be able to do the same.
Are you going to keep the car for any length of time? If so, I’d go stripes. Last I knew wraps only last for a few years before needing to be replaced unless you go with a ppf style material.
I’m not a big fan of wraps anyways for a few reasons but doing the roof and spoiler wouldn’t be bad.
Just about every filter has better filtration than K&N. With that said, I’ve never seen a damaged motor directly related to using K&N solely. I have seen dozens of oil analysis samples showing higher dirt in the oil though.
The ppf is protecting the paint. If you are doing the entire car like I did, you don’t really need to ceramic coat the car. People ceramic coat over the ppf for added protection to the ppf and for the added benefits of the ceramic coating as the top(sacrificial) layer.
Yep, I missed that part. I thought you were ppf the entire car. Definitely ceramic the entire car first then do the ppf. Hope it turns out great. This is my first car with ppf and I couldn’t be more pleased. Already have a few nics in it from rocks but the paint is still in great shape.
Have you looked at aftermarket exhaust prices? The AE is worth it and it’ll save you money. To each is their own, but I can’t justify a couple grand for sound enhancement and I now live in a neighborhood so keeping them happy helps my life.
If you replace the damaged piece there should be no lines unless you already have lines there. I don’t think you understand how it is applied. If you have a damage spot say on the hood, they should pull the whole piece off the hood and replace it. Then you just ceramic after it cures...
I don’t know what type of battery we have but anything under 12 volts and it’s considered dead and should be replaced. 12.6-12.8 not running and it’s fully charged with warm temps. If it’s colder like 30-40 degrees then it’ll read a little lower. Running your vehicle and the battery should...
Sure can. You pull the ppf off and replace it then recoat it. The ceramic is bonded to the film just like paint and is only 15 microns give or take a few.
