I went to the drag strip yesterday to get some time with my new Mustang. Unfortunately after arriving I discovered that the drag radials I brought with me were not 18" like I thought, but were 17" - and no way to get that on a car with the performance package rear Brembo brakes.
So ran with the...
Now my only question is "what is a suitable tool"? I have some plastic panel removal tools, but not sure if one of those will fit in what looks like a very small slot in that picture.
Some friends and I have been doing a track rental for 15 years (very sad though, the track canceled our reservation this year just a month before our scheduled day).
Since it is a private rental, they have let us do a lot of things - like the year 2 of us took our mountain bikes down the track...
It barely covered the bottom of the cup. I have a picture when I poured it into a baggie but not on this computer. I can post it later.
Edit: had a picture still on my phone
Put my summer wheels and tires on, and sent the snow tires and wheels to storage. Of course, now it is upper 30's again.
Also emptied the oil catch can to see how much accumulated in the first 1,000 miles. Not bad, only a small amount I figure I need to empty it every 3,000 miles, unless I am...
Mine updated Sunday and all seems to be fine so far. The only thing I noticed was that the "my color" setting all reverted to the as delivered colors so I had to reset them. I didn't notice this morning if that setting held so will check it out this evening.
My son-in-law is an engineer with another manufacturer. He said that on their cars the execs asked to have it "start" in quiet if it was set that way, although he said that they argued that people buying a performance car like the initial rev in normal at start up, they programmed the cars to...
I haven't checked behind the "tab" on the bumper, but my car with the Performance Package came with the tow hook to screw in. So I figured that it must be set up to receive the factory supplied tow hook.
Maybe non performance package cars don't have the part for a tow hook to engage? Cheaper...
I decided to just go ahead and reset my oil life monitor. It would only reset to 100% -- but after a couple of trips it moved to 93% and the Ford Pass App shows the correct estimated miles on the oil.
Yes, it was replaced under warranty. They tested it twice and it kept saying it was fine in testing, but then I would get the service soon notice within a day or two. So the last time the dealer said they were going ahead and replacing it and would argue with Ford warranty, especially if I...
On my car it was only about 6 weeks and 1,000 miles before the monitor went for 90+% to 39% overnight. So it wasn't the time factor, nor mileage factor, and I hadn't been driving the car hard since it is winter.
I pulled the dipstick on mine this weekend and the oil looked virtually new. With only 1600 miles on it I decide to just reset my "intelligent oil life monitor" and wait for the mileage to hit instead.
There must have been some over the air update that reset things after the oil change.
Interesting, and I recognize that Love's station. Used to stop there on my frequent trips between Michigan and North Carolina.
I expanded the one picture where you can see a little of the plate because I was wondering if it had the "M" plate that Michigan issues to manufacturers. We see them...
The place I use told me before they started that this takes a LOT more oil than my EcoBoost did. And they always pull the dipstick and show me afterwards that it is full. So I know they put the proper amount of oil in - no explanation for why my oil life monitor suddenly decided to go from 99%...
