  1. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

Wow so much fantastic information here. Thank you so much. One more question that may have been covered. My wheels and calipers were ceramic coated. What can I use for brake dust that will not hurt the ceramic? I've always found a wheel cleaner to really help with brake dust but for this car...
  2. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

So what is the general opinion on rinseless wash using Optimum No Rinse? What dry aid would you recommend?
  3. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

Yep, I have spent over $500.00 on supplies. Used to use a bucket and dish soap. LOL. I used to watch a neighbor wash his Challenger like every 2 days. I'd laugh thinking what a waste of time. Now I'm that guy. ha ha. And you're definitely right about swirls etc. We'll see how well ceramic...
  4. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

Ya, that's what i said, makes it shiny. LOL To be honest, with the care required to maintain it, I'm not sure (for me) it is worth it. I'll find out in time for sure. I do find I enjoy washing it much more. It could be because it is new. I have never really had a problem with any car paint and...
  5. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

So I had the PPF and ceramic redone and picked up yesterday. I had them just do the hood and correct a couple of other spots as best he could. So as mentioned above by some of us, his method was to remove the PPF, and re-apply it and then put ceramic over the PPF. He said the ceramics real...
  6. Clunking Sound Backing out of Driveway

I believe mine may have been from me not disengaging the hand brake before backing out. It may have simply been brakes sticking. Pleased to say this has stopped and I have not heard it for some time.
  7. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

My understanding is that Xpel and Kavaca and I am sure other PPF films already have a ceramic coating in them. Adding a ceramic coating over the PPF allows it to shine and expel water and protect further. The part I am not sure of is does the PPF need to cure before adding more ceramic. The shop...
  8. Should I Do This? Exterior Mod Concept for My Car

I really like your picture 2 with the front bumper as well. Really makes it yours.
  9. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

I am sure you will love it. I must have dropped another $500.00 on cleaning supplies to make sure I clean the ceramic properly. Note on the original post the shop that screwed my PPF gave me $1500.00 back. The PPF alone cost me 2200.00 plus 13% tax. So it was not a fair refund but I took what...
  10. Clunking Sound Backing out of Driveway

OK seems mine are off at least. I have feeling it may have been from backing out with the parking brake still on. More testing needed. Thanks for those photos, very helpful.
  11. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

It has been almost 4 weeks. I was questioning that it may heal itself because it has been somewhat cold in Ontario Canada. We've been at 35 - 50 degrees Fahrenheit lately but I'd leave it out in the sun when I could. Now I need to time it well to get it done and pickup the next day and pray it...
  12. Opinions or knowledge of PPF and Ceramic Coatings

So I had the entire front end done in PPF and with ceramic pro. Dealer covered the ceramic pro and I negotiated the PPF. Well the PPF did not set well, mainly on the hood and some other crease flaws and bubbles. Some photos attached. I am taking it back to get redone, of course covered. So...
  13. Clunking Sound Backing out of Driveway

So would this be a shipping spacers? This the right and left side of the front end. NOTE: I had a rust proofing done before pickup.
  14. Clunking Sound Backing out of Driveway

THank you for that information. Very helpful. If the brake disengages automatically as well, I suspect it could be used as a type of autohold if I don't see it engaged. I remember back in the day I would use the hand break to assist on a hill while engaging the clutch to avoid those few inches...
  15. Clunking Sound Backing out of Driveway

Hmmmm, now I am wondering if I am always disengaging the brake properly. Does the brake disengage itself if you don't push down? I kind of had the feeling it did. And is auto hold a function that holds it steady on a hill? Mine seemed to do it once but I was not sure that was what was...
  16. Clunking Sound Backing out of Driveway

OMG that is wild. I'll get under there and take a look on the weekend. I bet it's the same thing. So tell me, operationally after you would hear the sound at the beginning of a drive would it handle well? Mine has not been tested by any means as the weather is still cold and these tires are like...
  17. Clunking Sound Backing out of Driveway

Interesting that someone else is experiencing it. Haven't jacked mine up yet to look for shipping spacers but I doubt they would only make noise at the beginning of a drive. Mine is manual as well. If you find out anything let me know as I will do the same. We just had a snow storm last night so...
