You can buy wire tap connectors (also called splicers) that make this pretty easy, but I'd splurge and try to find some high quality water resistant ones or shrink wrap them as they have a tendency to cause the wire to corrode especially since the blades in them are a dissimilar metal.

Installed the Form Lighting smoked side markers and ordered the reverse light and rear markers. Hopefully weather starts to warm up and can get the lowering springs, sway bars, and subframe alignment kit installed.

How long between starting and getting in? There are settings for how long it'll run before it shuts off, I think it default to 10 or 15 minutes, wondering if it's a coincidence that you got in and sat down just as the timer expired.

There are a couple solutions out there so you don't have to drill into the bumper. I have the Sto-N-Sho brand, expensive but has a quick release for shows or washing.

Peak HP really isn't a great measure of the benefits of a mod (it's mostly bragging numbers), look at a full dyno graph and see how much it gives you in the lower end or over the entire range.

I've had this happen I think twice, and I believe both of those I had left my FOB in the car (may be entirely unrelated). Cycling the accessory power got it to shut down, hopefully this gets fixed in an update.

I was able to finally get them on, thanks to Saleen032 for the tip. I couldn't get the trim tool behind the pedal but after a few tries (and some minor burns) I was able to get the pedal covers around using my fingers and a lot of pressure/stretching.
