  1. Engine Noise

AWESOME IDEA. Thanks for sharing how the removal process works. I only have a large gear puller, so as an alternative I possibly would use a deep-well socket just the right clearance diameter, and then apply force on the fitting's top to drive the fitting out of the grommet/seal. Of course...
  2. Whipple Calibration On Hold

It sounds like Ford may see a risk and is intent on avoiding pointing fingers. Over my four decades of manufacturing career, it was generally the last person who touched the product that got blamed. (The thought process was that the person down the assembly line who also worked on the part...
  3. Whipple Calibration On Hold

I can understand Ford holding up certification. Afterall, if there's a known issue, even if small that can generate warranty, they do well to make sure it is right. A seemingly small issue that turns out to be a warranty item can be no small thing on an engine. Warranty claims are money right...
  4. Excess trunk heat

Not sure what color your vehicle is, but on a sunny day it is reasonable the temp goes up substantially. I also learned from my motorcycle days that a LOT of heat radiates off of pavement. I learned on hot days to ride the interstate lane closest to the ambient wind source, as temps rose...
  5. Water drips into footwell.

The OP lives in hot humid FL, and living there as well, I understand the use of the AC to enjoy top down freedom with a little less oppressing humidity and heat. Some folks in the far south may think it odd that people in colder climates have the top down, but the side windows up. Having lived...
  6. Water drips into footwell.

Is it possible your condensate drain is plugged? I've had that on other vehicles in humid climates before. When that occurred over time I found I had to spray the evaporator with an antifungal solution to clean the mold spores that collected on the cooling fins.
  7. Fire Extinguisher installation location

I, like the OP, have had occasion to help others with my fire extinguisher. Thankfully I've not experienced a thermal event myself. If I was doing a HPDE or drag racing, I'd keep one in the cabin for quick action should I have a grenade situation. In the grenade situation, the let it burn may...
  8. Display screen visor

I like Saleen's concept but in each of the photos I've seen, there always seem to be stitching a bit wayward (wavy where you'd thing they should be straight). My wife's dad called that being cattywampus.
  9. Steering Wheel Not Centered

It indeed can be confusing these days. Today's steering commonly uses "fly by wire". Yes there are mechanical connections at the chassis level that must be correctly adjusted, but the steering wheel does not employ a hard, mechanical interface with the chassis steering linkage. His issue...
  10. 2024 CV boot puked all its grease

I'm a bit surprised the OEM tie is white instead of a material containing carbon black for UV longevity (small amounts of sunlight do get to that location) But maybe the newer materials, albeit white) can handle the elements better than they used to.
  11. 5.0 Fender Emblems

I hadn't thought of that but indeed, it does look a bit high. I'd say 1.5 to 2" lower would probably be aesthetically better.
  12. This Just Got Real!

Of course it was dirty...in DFB5.0's eyes especially. :cwl: Congratulations! I'm sure this car will remain in best of shape....even better than when it left the factory.
  13. So why does my S650 GT not handle as well as my S550 GT?

Great question!!!!! Those strut towers for one thing are anything but stock. There's definitely some beefing up of that structure and they don't reply on spot welds. Of course the underside K-member is probably far from stock as well to handle race conditions.
  14. So why does my S650 GT not handle as well as my S550 GT?

Here's a pic of the convertible bracing installed on a S550. Actually, is a link to even better pics for those interested. https://mustangforums.com/articles/l-a-auto-show-flips-over-flipped-mustang-gt-convertible/
  15. Missing nuts on top of strut

Those are for the tower brace....which your car apparently did not include that option. But if you ever do decide to add the brace, wa-la, you have bolts in place already.
  16. Cowl shake on the s650 GT vert

Under warranty? Let the dealership chase down and fix the problems. If they cannot, depending on your State, multiple documented issues can invoke the lemon law.
  17. Repelling wheel dirt? Will this armorall product work?

Oh No, @DFB5.0...now I have to start polishing up my mower to keep up with you.
  18. Ford promises to build manual V8 Mustangs until they're illegal

Here's the document from MA on the requirements...
  19. Repelling wheel dirt? Will this armorall product work?

I just read a recommendation in another thread to apply a quality ceramic coat on them and the dust will be easily cleaned off your wheels
  20. Front grill open side air intakes

I agree. And while to me it seems alright to have a large "honeycomb" feature in the upper/lower center, with smaller honeycomb feature in the lower outboard locations, having small honeycomb mesh in everywhere else but the lower outboard locations just doesn't look right for some reason.
