Like others advised, buy a puller. Put a towel under the wiper so if you slip you don't scratch anything. I would tighten the puller until you feel the arm pop from the shaft. Do not fully remove the arm, but gently clock it to the next spline , or wherever you want it, press down gently...

From my one experience it buzzes and you feel the pedal moving. Main thing is to not pump the brakes like in the "old days" but let it do it's own thing unless obviously it's not working.
