I know Ford states you get an extra six horsepower and three lb-ft of torque in the active exhaust’s loudest setting compared to non-active. Has anyone tested the other sound modes to see how much HP the engine produces in each setting?
From the research I’ve done moving from a 24 to a 25 401a lost the leather looking stitched knee plates, replaced with hard plastic and the phone wireless charging plate under the engine start area. Moving from a 25 to a 26 has the extra security features moved out to a separate option code.
Had my car for seven months and only 5,700 miles and am getting a key FOB battery low message already. Anyone else experience that quick of a discharge?
I love my S650 but one thing I do notice every time I drive is how heavy it feels and I often find myself in my thoughts while I’m driving wondering why the car is as heavy as it is.
In context with my history of cars it seems unusually heavy. For example I owned quite a few Firebirds and...
I have a 25 GT with performance pack which has the higher final drive ratio. Compared to the 17 GT I had prior which also had the performance pack the gearing is much taller. It’s sluggish at low RPM. Once you get the revs up it’s quite lively from that point forward. 5th and 6th gears are both...
I have not owned a set of PS4S tires yet but have driven a number of cars with summer tires year-round. From memory I believe they were Goodyear Eagle F1, Firestone Firehawk Indy 500, Pirelli P Zero, RE050A, Advan Sport, and a few others I can’t remember. All of them are slippery below 50 F and...
This thread seems to have gotten off topic. I’m looking to increase grip during summer drives over stock (p zero) tires. Not interested in dropping down to all seasons. The 4S tire would be the logical next step to improve grip on stock tire sizes since moving up a size may not improve anything...
What kind of mileage can one expect from a cup 2 tire with just spirited commuter driving?
I don’t drive the car if it gets 20 F or below. Stays in the garage to avoid tire cracking. I don’t mind if a tire gets slippery in the cold I just adjust my driving and keep the traction control on when...
Thank you for the data. Logically having more contact patch should increase cornering and acceleration grip but perhaps if the tire is not sitting right on the wheel the benefits of the extra width are negated.
Moving to a PS4S of the same stock size might be the best grip that can be had with...
Just looking for a little extra grip without having to pay for a new set of wheels. If cost were no option I’d probably get 305 width tires for the rear. I think that tire width would match the power and gearing well.
Anyone try to fit 265/285 width tires on stock GT performance pack wheels? (Comes with 255F/275R width) if so, what did it look like and how did the car handle?
When it’s time to replace tires thinking of moving from the Pirelli P Zero 255/275 to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S 265/285. Wanted to see...
as an example the blue machine is from a Honda plant. Modern lighting everything is spotless. The yellow machine is from a Mustang plant. Dirt all over the place. Just shows the difference in pride. When you are proud of the work you do, you naturally make a better product.
I was watching a lot of s550 factory videos (s650 videos are mostly non existent and should be the same process) vs Integra type S since those were the two cars I was cross shopping. It was night and day. The mustang assembly plant and machines did not look nearly as well maintained and the...
Well it finally happened. I always thought the active performance exhaust tips on the S650 looked unfinished and cheap. Even more so than the base exhaust options. Most other cars I’ve owned fold the metal over or create finished caps around the pipe itself. With this exhaust it appears they...
The programmed break in is what is preventing more performance tests from being conducted in my opinion. People who buy 300,000 cars buy them as investments. There are probably not a lot willing to quickly put 1,000 plus miles on this car. Most who have cars like that sell them many years later...
On the cobra gauge there is a blank space below the tach that was for warning lights in the original. Wish they would re-purpose it with a digital speedo or gear number. Would be perfect then.
They can put the Ecoboost in something else that would compete with the hot hatches and the prelude/gr86 type cars. Start as a V8 for entry level into the mustang. 400 HP in something that starts around $40K. It would not be about competing with the Supra and Z at that point because it would be...
Coups get the shark fin on the roof for XM/cell. Convertibles get a hockey puck on the trunk. Coups have the AM/FM antenna built into the rear glass. Convertibles have the old school wire antenna that can be twisted off and removed if you don’t use the radio.
They need to lower the price. GT needs to start at $45,000 and not balloon up so quickly with options. I had a 2017 Mustang GT and wanted another one four years later but was priced out. Was not willing to spend $800 plus a month for a well equipped Mustang GT. Went with another car for three...
