I've heard of this. I think it's called emergency stop signal. I don't know if Ford implements this across their vehicles. If present, it automatically activates flashing brake lights or hazards temporarily after an ABS braking event. It shuts off when the car starts moving again. Easiest...
This is the kind of stuff that I dealt with for a decade with one of my Subarus. No measurable emissions but you can't have that.... Whether it be a BOV (even one that didn't vent to atmosphere) a catch can, a turbo inlet, CAI or downpipe. One day, one shop you pass another day the same shop...
I did see a post from one other user who does his this way as well. As you said the car would have to be jacked up or put up on ramps to get a oil pan underneath It anyway. I'm curious too. 🤔
Maybe it's just me but I have no desire to take off my wheel & well cover to access the filter, unless there's something I'm not aware of? This would be further compounded when I put on mud flaps. I know the undercover is bad enough but that sounds like a lot of extra work.
Just weeks away...
Oh yes. It doesn't matter if your car is not emitting any measurable hydrocarbons. You will fail visual inspection if you make any modifications to the emission system. This is why I went NA with all the horsepower I wanted. Otherwise you're swapping everything out every two years for a 15...
I ordered a J&L catch can in black for the passenger side. I picked it up from American Muscle since I live in California and nobody else would ship me one.
I envy those of you who live in locations where you can get an oil change for $50 or $60 bucks. If you live in the wonderful state of California and especially the Bay Area, you're going to pay $150 plus. I think my local dealer 5 miles away from my house charges about $180 out the door.
It's...
@Ewags81
That's all helpful info. I would do the Steeda jack rails but I am not going to cut the underbody covering on the car. The pads make more sense for my application. The bag method is something that I saw on youtube. We get pizza once a month so I can throw a box or two down in the...
I'm still about 400 miles away from the first change. I've been removing the full underbody engine covers on my LGT and STI for the last 2 decades, every 3k. So whatever Ford has going will be different but not anything new for me. With the exception of the oil filter. On Subaru EJ motors...
Just an update. I finally got around to opening my RockAuto shipment. I ordered three cases of Motorcraft 5w30 and I got three cases of the new SQ. 🙂... So if anybody wants Ford's latest brew, that's a great place to get it.
I don't trust the dealer. Maybe partially but no one's going to treat your car as good as you will. Like others I like being under my car to see what's going on. Periodic visual inspections go a long ways to maintaining your vehicle. Oil changes are not a big deal. Ramps or jacks and a...
Greetings,
Are there any other mounting options like a blend mount? I was a multi-decade suction cup mount user (radar detectors). They leave marks on the windshield, even if keep everything clean and move them periodically. Suction cup mounts also make it difficult to use sun shades...
In addition, inspect the belt, and check the deflection. I believe the AC belt is stretch fit. If it was installed improperly, it could get damaged. It should have about 1/2 in of deflection.
@Lou G,
Indeed we have. I mentioned it (easy out) right before you did. So we are both of the same mindset 😃, but it sounds like it's above the OPs comfort level.
Cheers,
