Ok thanks... you have given me a lot to think about... I'll agree that the MGW looks a lot easier to install than the Barton and looks like it is more value for the money. Looks like they thought of everything when they engineered this stuff. I also like how they retained the factory boot...
Hmmm, I'll agree it's quite a work of art, possibly over engineered, maybe? The only thing I don't like about it is the reverse lockout being a push down instead of pulling up on a collar like stock. Barton has both types to choose from...
Do you ever find that you put it in reverse by accident...
Hi all,
I can't seem to find any recommendations on various threads here (there is a lot of them!) around what aftermarket shifter you all prefer.
I have a 2024 Dark Horse and I was recommended a Barton shifter by a new friend of mine in my car club, he swears they are the best.
Do you all...
Yeah I'm thinking the same if it was 110 race fuel, if it was unleaded race fuel then you should be good.
Otherwise you said you did the Steeda H-Pipe resonator delete, maybe you damaged a wire to the O2 sensor during the install and/or it's now touching the pipe?
LOL, really? It's pretty self explanatory... And my statement still stands... why buy a muscle car with 12-1 compression and cheap out on the gas? If you can't afford the correct gas then IMHO there's a problem which is what the OP was posting about at the beginning of this thread.
Well since I don't need this then using pump gas at 93 octane or better is my preferred option.
I also have unleaded race gas available in my area.... if that was really a route I wanted to go with.
Regardless if you are going to spend big money on a new muscle car with a high compression...
Right off the Ford website... https://www.ford.ca/cars/mustang/models/dark-horse/
I think you all need to rethink your strategy around using bad gas for a high compression engine...
If you don't have the octane requirement in your place of residence then octane boost additives are always a...
I live in a rural area around Lindsay, Ontario... Lot's of stations have 93 or better octane.... I've never been without an option to find that type of gasoline.
I wouldn't, I always use either 93 or 94 octane, and drive away from any station that has 91 "Premium". I bought the car knowing full well that it calls for 93 octane or better gas, and I don't want to f-up a high compression engine with lousy gas.
It's just not worth taking the risk...
Not sure why everyone is bitching about high American prices for great quality built American products... I'm in Ontario, Canada and I have to deal with tariffs and shipping costs and I'm ok with that...
China stuff sucks
I only have that happening on the left front part where it meets the front bumper... a bit of a gap. It's a bit annoying but it doesn't look like I can do anything about it because it looks like that part of the bumper sticks out a bit.
Awesome! Thanks!
Rules have changed a bit since I was out in the sport but the track I'll be racing at is NHRA sanctioned, Toronto Motorsports Park, Cayuga.
This will be a next year thing anyways... just working to get my stuff together and work on getting the car to stop wheel hoping first...
Well great because I've already invested in a bunch of Steeda stuff from CJ Pony Parts.
I'm trying to find some information on a clutch housing scatter shield... Like a Lakewood Safety Bellhousing, or even a steel plate that can enclose or cover the stock bellhousing, like what you would see...
