I know you can choose the custom mode above the normal mode when using the silver button but does it enable you to go through all the custom profiles if you have several setup or is only meant for the last custom profile you setup?

Yup like Saburak said, it greets you the first time with the light show (mirrors folded) etc. and turns off as soon as you open the car and the mirros unfold. On our S550 it was present everytime you opened the door or unlocked the car. A bit sad but I would have loved to have the DH logo...
