Dude. You are comparing a N/A Darkhorse manual to a supercharged 10 speed lol. Of course the Darkhorse feels slow. It's down 250ish horsepower at least lol. Get the Whipple on the Darkhorse and then give us an update.
Not uncommon for people to beat magazine times by a few tenths on decent tracks. Low 12s high 11s are achievable for GT and DH. The MT-82 is a lot better than the ones I had in 2013 and 2015. I also have a 10R80 car and it has had zero issues.
This is a good point. Everything is more expensive and people don't have as much disposable income as they once had.
Also the GT with the Whipple is cheaper than a DH lol.
The Mach-e being a "Mustang" allows Ford to continue V8 models with the EPA rules since they have a full EV version. GM is doing the same with Corvette.
For me it was hard to see where the front end of the car was a low speeds and the rear visibility was really bad. The long hood and high fenders gave me some depth perception issues and I never felt comfortable driving that car in a parking lot.
The SS chassis was a lot better. Mach 1 wasn't even close in that regard. When I went back to a Mustang, the seat position felt very high like I was driving on top of the car.
Mach 1 had a much better interior and was a lot easier to live with. In the SS my wife couldn't see out of very well...
Did you also drive a new S650 GT or just the DH?
For anyone modding their car and buying it with that intent Mustang is really hard if not impossible to beat.
Where I am getting 75k from is how I would spec a DH. DH Premium, HP, Ember blue metallic is 72,705. TTL around 75k. Yes you can get one lower but without the handling pack I can't see myself driving it.
I never owned a 350. One of life's regrets. I did own several GT PP1s an SS 1LE and a Mach...

Looks are subjective and I don't mind how the new BMWs look. I am sure I am in the minority on that.
Performance however is not subjective. The Dark Horse fully optioned is over 91k. (Including stripes and carbon fiber wheels). Decline those options and you have a 75k ballpark car with the...
We really don't need to see a DH without the handling pack in a 0-60 and 1/4 we already have numbers for the GT Performance Pack which has same tire set up and a negligible horsepower difference of 14. The GT PP was faster 1/4 than the DH HP by .1 sec. Also, the times for both the DH and GT are...
I agree with you 100% the Dark Horse is too expensive. 75k for a Premium HP car is in the range of cars the Mustang can't compete with.
However the S550 had a lot more positives than the A10. The GT 350 was a massive boost. The 18 refresh also brought the Gen 3 Coyote and the Bullitt and Mach...
Of course Ford is adding models above the Dark Horse. At a minimum a GT500 I would assume. I have doubts about a 350 but a Boss or Cobra is certainly in the realm of possibility.
Also with Dodge having an R/T Charger at an alleged 550hp Ford has room for a mid generation refresh and increase...
I would really like to see Ford bring back PP2 for GTs. Basically everything in the Dark Horse HP and add the coolers this time at a GT level. Maybe after a couple years replace Dark Horse with GT PP2 and then bring out a new Boss or Cobra. Give it 550hp or so and then there is plenty of room...
I understand that completely. I miss my manuals sometimes. I wonder how long Ford will offer a manual considering the GT500 was DCT only also. No doubt the DCT or A10 is "faster" but it certainly is less engaging.
