It was the alternator. They ordered a new one yesterday and it was received this morning. It's currently being installed and car should be ready sometime later today.
So I think it's a bad battery. I took it for a drive just now. Voltage was 11.0 when I started the car. That number didn't change throughout the drive. So that leads me to believe that the alternator is still working, but the battery is not taking a charge.

I don't drive much or that far, yesterday I drove for about 30-35 minutes total. It was 4 trips totaling probably 10 miles. I worry that the alternator is not charging the battery and if I do go for a drive today, the battery will run out and the car will turn off and I'll be stuck on the side...

As you can see the car only has 4,378 miles. Has anyone experienced this issue yet on the S650? Car is about 1.5 years old. Hoping it's just the battery. Will I be able to drive it to the dealership for service or should I have it towed?

I too am annoyed by the change in how the accessory power is shut off. I preferred the original way where the accessory power shuts off immediately when the door is opened.
