Very nice! Any plans for the car or keeping it stock for now?
  2. Track Inspiration Photos

Not an S650 but maybe it'll inspire some of you S650 guys to get out there and have some fun. Not enough track content on this forum, Hoping to fuel the fire.
  3. Mustang GTD documentary coming Dec. 10th

Ok I did some nerdy college stuff... So Lift = 1/2 speed squared x air density x surface area x coefficient of lift ZR1: 1200 lbs at 215 mph GT3RS: 1900 lbs at 177 mph Since we know lift and velocity for both cars, we can solve for air density x surface area x coefficient of drag (call it...
  4. Mustang GTD documentary coming Dec. 10th

I mean, I could be wrong. We're all speculating here. Based off the info that is publicly available, I'm estimating that the ZR1 does not have enough downforce to beat the GTD, let alone the GT3RS. Good comparison: the Viper ACR. GTD is likely +300 lbs in weight, similar in aero, and makes an...
  5. Mustang GTD documentary coming Dec. 10th

It'll be close but honestly, no. The internet seems to be blown away by the 4-digit horsepower of the ZR1 but power only helps when the wheel is straight and there are *many* turns on this track. In each of those turns, the max speed is limited by grip, not power and the ZR1 has only marginally...
  6. Mustang GTD documentary coming Dec. 10th

A 6:57 is about what I expected. It should in theory be similar to the AMG GT but we don't know it's weight nor how much downforce it makes. I'm betting the ZR1 *under same conditions* wouldn't even break 7 minutes. 1,200 lbs downforce at 215mph is nothing. Though I don't think they were...
  7. Mustang GTD documentary coming Dec. 10th

I suppose my comments put me in that category. I love the GTD and can't wait to see Ben Sloss rip his around Laguna Seca....BUT if Ford had a blank check to make the coolest Mustang ever, I'm rather surprised at some of the decisions they made. Namely: turbos are objectively superior to...
  8. Mustang GTD documentary coming Dec. 10th

Ford is certainly capable of making a durable turbo V8. Plenty of automakers achieve this. Sure it would've been uncharted territory for them but a turbo platform would've made the cooling load more manageable. Look at Steve Luca's turbo GT500 time attack build. 1,000 hp and runs lap after lap.
  9. Mustang GTD documentary coming Dec. 10th

I'm still confused as to why they went supercharger over turbocharger. Granted they already had the power unit from the GT500 so it would save on cost but being their halo-car at over $300k, I doubt cost was even a concern. Could've had less weight, less heat, more power, boost by gear, etc...
  10. American Muscle Can kiss Both Sides Of My…

🤦‍♂️ This right here.....You gave them permission to do whatever they want with it. I would bet money they have a clause in the fine print that states any picture posted to their site gives them permission to use it for advertising purposes.
  11. Project 2024 Global Time Attack UNLIMITED S650 Build

Following! Finally someone is doing something cool with the new mustangs. Been waiting for a worthwhile build thread on this website.
  12. 2024 Woodward Mustang Alley Photos

The ZR1 definitely takes the cake for power but it doesn't make all that much downforce. 1,200 lbs at max speed (215 mph)....that's honestly pretty terrible. The GT3RS makes 1,900 lbs at 170 mph and I'm sure the GTD is similar. I would be surprised if the ZR1 is faster than the GTD around the...
  13. Cutting factory springs?

Lol I had the same exact thought. This is what people do to 20 year old Hondas....not brand new Mustangs. I'm still a bit shocked I'm actually reading this as a thread on this site.
  14. Open Track Day and Factory Warranty

I think it depends on the dealer. I know a handful of people who very clearly race their cars competitively and they still get warranty work done. On the other hand, I've seen numerous posts about people getting warranty work rejected because of track use. As for insurance, I know someone who...
  15. Dark Horse R Drivers Set for 2025 Mustang Challenge Le Mans Invitational

One of the drivers in this series is on trackmustangsonline.com if you want a personal story.
  16. 10 Speed Track Use?

The A10 is definitely faster than the manual but it still seems true automatics cannot hold up to the heat of track use. A friend of mine is extremely fast with his S550 A10 but he's also on his 3rd or 4th trans and that's with a giant aftermarket trans cooler. The manuals can hold up to the...
  17. 2025 Mustang GTD World Debut at Le Mans! 🏁

@Ford Motor Company Please make this screen available in ALL Mustang models. This is exactly what I want to see when in Track mode. maybe add tire pressures on the right side....
  18. First look at the Mustang GTD interior!

I can't speak for all future GTD owners but I know Ben Sloss is already allocated one and I know for a fact he'll take his to the track on day 1. He uses his expensive toys as intended. I met him at Buttonwillow a few years back when he brought his GT4 to a track day. Another time, he brought...
  19. First look at the Mustang GTD interior!

I think a lot of people here with negative comments are missing the entire point of this car. It is not intended to be this flashy, halo, flagship, exotic competitor. I do believe Ford wanted to take the GT3 race car and do what was necessary to make it street legal - within reason. Fancy...
