Now I feel really stupid. I have been bitching about the GT speeding away in reverse. I back it into my garage with probably 4 +/- inches on a side starting about 10 feet from the opening. I have driven it in at what feels like a run, scarry, now I bounce off the bite like a newbie. I thought...
I agree with everything except "you can prevent it". I had 2 close calls that challenge that. A short pipe fell off a truck and bounced into my front tire. Bent the tire, I was not hurt, it was close. Then an accident in the oncoming lane, resulted in 2 cars crossing the line If you think you...
British, Australian, Japanese, German, American..., impressive. I have purchased 1 German car (2013 AMG E63), other than that all Chevy, Ford and one Chrysler.
Sounds like the break-in I kind of went with. Vary speed & RPM in 1st - 4th for 100 miles, then add, when fully warmed, up several WOT pulls to set the rings. Then drove spirited, with no shock loads until I could not stop myself ~800 miles I did a "no breaks" burnout, as aggressive as...
When I was a teenager I wore out the clutch on a '76 Chevy malibu, ruined the tiers as well. As an adult I have owned 6 cars with manual transmission, that I can think of. Most I sold or wreaked, that aside I have only had 1 clutch plate wear out, in a '66 chevy Belair my brother gave me, with...
Break pads can be replaced much cheaper and easier than clutch components. Different argument; it's fun and as long as you rev-matched or close and perform the clutch engagement smoothly the forces and engine RPMs are low should be little wear.
I agree, "almost" always down shift. It sounds good, saves breaks and makes driving fun, it's why I bought a standard. I typically limit downshifts to less than 4000RPM. No impact on gas usage (except RPM bump of rev match), minimal wear on car as oil flow will be high and the forces are low...
Try attaching a light ankle weight to the steering wheel. I have not tried this in either on my Mustangs, as they have lane assist which is a safety feature not a daily use feature, but it works on a Prius with lane centering. It stops complaining and centers the car against the small force of...
I agree, looks nice, my thought when I first looked a performance pack engine was Ford should have, at least, added a "Ford Performance" sticker to the strut.
It looks awesome, possibly the best looking s650 convertible I have seen (& I include mine in that assessment). The stripes and attention to detail in the engine compartment really make the car stand out. If you could, who did your stripes and how much did they cost.
I like your choices: active valve exhaust, B&O with trunk woofer, convertible top, and Molten Magenta. I went with the red interior, it fits the magenta exterior. How does the space gray look?

If you have an automatic with lane centering try putting a light ankle weight on the side of the steering wheel. It provides a light pull on the wheel and the lane centering "should" overcome this small force and keep you centered. I have not tried this on any of my Mustangs as all of them...
You are too critical, you may start a thread but it will go were posters take it. BTW, it's a good thread, personally I have been curious what others are getting for milage.
I have 900 miles on the odometer, so 5th fill up, never over 22mpg, most of the averages were around 17 mpg. I am impressed with your 10mpg, indicates throttle position and fun.
