One point that may be in Ford's favor - how many miles are already on the car? Freshly built engines are tighter in tolerance and thus get a little warmer than one that has been broken in or has a lot of miles on it. I haven't built a modern engine (and I know modern cars have better machine...
Can't tell which is better on the S650 - Grabber Blue, Atlas Blue, or Vapor Blue. Love the black and blue contrasts and the photos are *chefs kiss*. Looks great!
I wonder how many are at the Mesa yard. Supposedly we have some EB and a Dark Horse on the way down here to Tucson...we'll probably will be one of the last dealers to get them here in AZ lol.
Got to listen to one recently, the stock option isn't terrible and sounds good. I'd probably put it on par with the stock S550 quad tip, rowdy but not too rowdy.
I don't know if anyone else remembers, but there was a Fordauthority article roughly a year or so 2 years ago I think that found a GT test mule with some odd exhaust sticking out the back (like the test pipes we saw on Roush's S550's late last year). Supposedly had a V8 sound to it and engine...
So I actually got to see (and sit in) this specific car and it's just a PP GT and a pre-production model at that (front bumper doesn't fit 100% (RTR's fault), other panel gap issues). RTR promo guy stopped by our dealer as we're starting (and apparently really growing if RTR took the time to...
Coworker ordered and bought a brand new hybrid ST-Line, got try out these "buttons"....and I really agree. They feel cheap and not well thought out IMO. Pretty sure they're just capacitive "buttons" that only activate when you push the main button in.
Not an absolute deal breaker for me if I...
The revised D4's aren't too terrible. Supposedly less failure rate than the pre-revisioned MT82s and their shift fork issues. Mine has been fine for me so far, nibbles a bit here and there and sometimes denies 1st, but could be flaws with the remote mount shifter setup or the use of DCT fluid...
Kinda feeling the same after seeing the official B+P numbers now. Getting all the features and options my '23 has (301a, black accents, AE, security package) would've put me at +$2k...and I'd want upgraded brakes as well...so $50k puts me out of S650 GT territory.
It'll probably end up like Tesla in a way - the dealer will still exist, but they have no say on price of the actual car and Ford will directly get the monies with the dealer probably getting a cut. I think Ford's already working on rolling this plan out with their Model E division (electric...
Wow, looks like options pricing (outside of PP dropping a substantial amount) is the same. For comparison my '23 GT ordered as a 301a with nite pony pack and AE was $45,145. A '24 at MSRP with the same options is only $400 more. Seems like the "high" packages have been absorbed into the base...
My only gripe is all the wheel, seat belt, and stripe choices Ford touted early on now requires you to add packages to get those options. Still no cloth Recaros for base EB/GT's...and you now need to have the PP to get Recaros. You still need to get the PP to get magneride, which is dumb IMO...
Just noticed on FMCDealer a big ass banner at the top - '24 Mustang launch on the 20th with a live stream broadcast to dealers at 2pm ET.
Looks like the 20th it may be.
Before or after would make sense either way - use VIN 001 auction as PR and release info next week (possibly give order info info during auction), or release info this week so whoever wins the auction knows what they want.
If Ford really wants deliveries by summer...now would be the time for...
I'm kinda surprised race red looks good on the S650 - black accents permitting. Red calipers also help it stand out a bit more. Doesn't look good on the S550 IMO.
Ooooo I like both of those! Not a big fan of the Dark Horse model with some of its flaws. I used to really be into collecting Hot Wheels (mainly Redlines) and some die cast/resin stuff. Might have to hop back in at some point.
One interesting thing that I don't know if it was noticed before - the lights flanking the inside of the grille change to amber with the turn signal (last EB picture). I wonder if their intended purpose is just side lighting legality then.
The stripes though are...meh. Maybe with a contrasting...
Yeah I'm aware it can be toggled, I have no issue with it's operation actually. Pretty helpful assist, scares the 🤬 out of you the first time though.
The issue I have is after programming for some recalls or TSB's, it throws a warning message for it - so then you need to drive it to learn...
Took me a minute to find (used to random paper copies) - seems like the gates are lifting slowly. I'd guess an order guide might be available in January after all, hopefully before my '23 gets delivered (my main concern is price for the S650...and no Eruption Green). Some other random dumb tid...
