I used to have an Element in my car. I will invite you to read reviews.
I now have a standard type extinguisher. I fastened it horizontally under the passenger side door pull with tie wraps. The tie wraps hold the extinguisher cradle not the extinguisher itself, so I can still access it fast by...
Yes, if you track the car a lot, 4 identical wheels with the same offset and a slide on spacer up front, GT4 studs to enable sufficient thread engagement (OP Mustang has them) and you're good to go. I wouldn't change the alignment before your first track day.
For part of my first season I used...
I run 11 inch rims front and back with no issues on 305 30 19 MPS4S (that are wider than the Trofeo of similar width) with no issues. It's a popular setup. Apex wheels has a 11 inch fitment guide for our Mustangs.
This looks pretty ideal to me with street tires (up to, say, 200TW compounds)
I use the same specs, except I have zero toe out in the front and 2 degrees of camber in the back (with stock camber arms).
I drive to and from the track with this alignment and have been doing this for years with no...
My car doesn't have Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC). The lower and upper buttons in the left side cluster of the steering wheel are blank.
Now...if my car had ACC, could I opt to use regular, fixed speed Cruise Control or is the only Cruise Control setting "Adaptive" on ACC cars?
I'm asking...
If you're looking for grip and putting the power down with maximum efficiency, without the car being a dedicated racer, I see 2 paths (for rear wheels):
Easy to implement: 19x11 ET 52 with 315 section tires with 200 TW max. Suboptimal but a real world solution.
Harder to implement but still...
On the Trofeo tire topic, it's interesting to watch Vorshlag's testing of the DH with tires. They "posted a video where (they) measured the "295mm" Yokohama as wider in tread width than the "315mm" Trofeo RS" easy to find on YouTube.
Some more data for this thread: I've tracked my car (GT PP) for 5x 30 minute sessions without any issues at Calabogie (3.1 mile track) with ambient temperatures between 75-85 degrees.
I'm due for another oil change so I will try to take better pictures this time. I have a funnel that is very soft and pliable so I can stuff it in there and place it around the filter. And through the bottom of the funnel I stuff a long screwdriver to punch a hole in the bottom of the filter to...
No big deal to remove the filter without removing any fasteners. I raise the front of the car on an slight downslope. Turn the wheels to the left and reach through the opening forward and inboard from the strut. Unscrew the filter with lots of absorbent material around. That's how I did it on...
Loved my S550 GT. Wasn't too keen on the IPad dash and the disproportionately thin headlights on the 2024 but kept an open mind. It is better in all respects. Not by a landslide, but certainly by a noticeable increment.
I had the power seats in my S550 and the Recaros in my S650. I bought the Recaros because I go to the track.
I am impatient so I prefer manual seat adjustments because it's faster. Power seats are sooooo slooow😆
Looks excellent. I'm glad Ford did not whore itself out to the whims of fashion leather alacantara and carbon fiber interior trim bullshit.
The GTD is like the Ferrari of old. It doesn't care about the human buying it or driving it. It only exists for performance. If you want creature comfort...
What Roadpilot said, also keeping in mind what kind of thing you like. I enjoy driving on road course tracks. So the way I mod will be significantly different vs someone who enjoys the dragstrip, or cars and coffee with the occasional canyon carving session. Find out what you enjoy and research...
My auto start stop doesn't work. I'll make sure they specify not to fix it on the work order when I go get another recall fixed. And I'm willing to bet they'll fix it anyway. Possibly they will fix only auto start stop and not the other recall I have😆
Neither is needed. I don't really drive the car unless it's to go to and from the track, and I only have passenger side catch can. The driver side is not worth it to me when what I'm giving up to buy it is ten 15 minutes sessions on the local track.
Every hour of track time over 5000 rpm...
