There has been a lot of talk about the S650 being more locked down and not being able to be tuned (think of dodge where you need to physically modify the pcm to be able to tune or buy an unlocked one).
A new video from stangmode essentially confirms that only certain Ford partners (Whipple and...
Maybe it’s only all out N/A cars that I see do better than mustangs. I looked up some stuff and it looks like mod for mod until you start doing head work, the Camaro is right with the mustang or a little behind.
Mustang also has dual overhead cams with VVT.
Typically the 10r80 GT has been faster than the Camaro or the scat pack charger. Thats why I am saying it is weird the mustang was slower. Once you start modding the Camaro (at-least N/A) you can easily make more hp than the mustang can make mod for...
Ya I need to get a manual car at some point in my life before they are all gone. I can only drive my automatic in manual mode with the paddle shifters lmao
I think they stated the manual ecoboost didn’t sell enough.
8,000 rpm factory coyote would be nice. It means you may be able to upgrade the previous-gen coyotes to that rpm and power level safely. If the gen 4 coyote intake manifold is a big improvement I am sure someone will make a kit to swap it onto the older cars.
Honestly no idea why they upgraded the rods. I think it may be more of a marketing decision than anything, but we will see, maybe the rods actually help the engine.
I expect the rev limit to atleast be what the gen3 has, but unfortunately no info on how high it might rev.
I don’t think the...
Whipple is making a supercharger kit for the s650 gt, so some tuners atleast have access to the pcm.

Nice find. This confirms at least some performance shops will have access to be able to tune the 7th gen mustangs.
I expect roush will also have offerings for the s650.
We will have to wait and see if the pcm is locked for aftermarket tuners that don’t have deep connections with ford.
