  1. What Radar Detecter Do You Use?

I'm using an old Valentine One. It may be old but it still works superbly. I decided to just leave it in my new s650 given how easy it is to "get carried away" in the car. Besides that, my car is "radar red" and through the years, I have discovered that red cars definitely do attract radar...
  2. Wanting to buy a new Mustang, want to hear others opinions.

@noslwb, you have about all the advice needed that you asked for in getting what you want and having a decent career. @Neggytive, sums it up exactly as I do. My stock 10 speed is pretty quick IMHO. He asks a very good question in that if a blown car isn't tracked, where are you going to use...
  3. S650 vs RZ34 (Nissan Z)

Turbos exist to meet EPA emissions standards which certain engines with turbos do adequately. But, there are sacrifices such as reliability, engine and turbo longevity, engine oil life, and a real life increase in gas mileage. Once a turbo passes emissions standards and are put on the road...
  4. Issue after getting rear axel and hub replaced. Dealer refuses to diagnose.

There's a thing called "insurance". Just as many stores aren't insured for many things past posted operating hours, dealers aren't allowed to break traffic laws. I wouldn't allow my techs to ride with a client with the partial intent of breaking traffic laws. Liability can be a real pain...
  5. S650 vs RZ34 (Nissan Z)

To sum it up, shortly and quickly, Nissan is a complete failure. Look at all of their different vehicles and their faults and lack of reliability. Nissan, itself, is a failure so there is no valid comparison. The Z car has not been well received, so it adds to the failure of Nissan.
  6. Steering speed/ratio?

Man, I'd just like to get better feedback through the wheel. The lack of it is a serious weakness in Mustangs. I'm on my fourth GT and it can get you in trouble. They've all been that way.
  7. Wanting to buy a new Mustang, want to hear others opinions.

Best thing you've said is to get out of debt. Credit card debt interest is obscene. I would encourage you to stay out of debt no matter what it takes. If you get a mortage, at least you're building equity and can deduct the interest from you taxes. Do double payments and pay it off early...
  8. Wanting to buy a new Mustang, want to hear others opinions.

Well, noslwb, this is the 61st post where you've gotten tons of a variety of advice, opinions, and help, in so many forms, shapes, and ways by well meaning folks here. Are you close to a decision as to what route you need to take for yourself as you chart your future? I'm sure I'm not the only...
  9. New owner

Use the feedback function at the end of a drive. I did and they quit that stupid shit. I also told them I didn't like the "wear your seat belt" reminder that comes on in the dash screen. They shortened the amount of time is is on.
  10. Coyote F150s faster than the mustangs?

Who really cares if a pick-up truck is faster than a Mustang GT? Why?
  11. Wanting to buy a new Mustang, want to hear others opinions.

I was wanting to be a mechanic but it doesn’t pay that well for how much work one puts in, im still trying to figure out what to do in life, im getting into finance so im gonna see if that is something that will work out for me [/QUO If that's your direction, then better plan on getting a...
  12. Printed My Owner's Manual

Ever heard of an "index" to do a search? They work very well.
  13. Hands On The Wheel – Cleaning Your Steering Wheel

Keeping a steering wheel clean and pleasant to use is easy. First keep your hands clean and secondly, now and then just get a clean damp rag and wipe down the wheel quickly. Easy peasy.
  14. FRPS Charlotte Track Training Program

Ford offers this two day event to new GT owners (and Eco Boost owners too I think), provided it is sheduled and done within a year of delivery. You drive their cars, not yours, and agree to pay for any and all damage to their cars up to totally replacing them if something happens. I'm...
  15. Wanting to buy a new Mustang, want to hear others opinions.

Were I you, I would also get a 4 year degree no matter what it took. No, it isn't necessary to make a lot of money (and money isn't the only reason to get an education) but it sure does help if you major in the right thing for your aptitude. An education, no matter what kind, is something...
  16. Wanting to buy a new Mustang, want to hear others opinions.

Now that's the best advice I've heard yet. The earlier people start investing, the sooner they have the power of being debt free, having more choices, and being just able to retire. Feeling like one JUST HAS TO HAVE a GT at 20 y.o. is not exactly wise IMO. These are the years when he could be...
  17. Brake Fade

Replace your brake fluid for peace of mind and just because. It's DOT 4 which is hygroscopic. That likely isn't your problem since the issue happens "suddenly" but while I'm working on brakes, I'd replace the fluid, but that's just me. I used to do it often when I raced bikes and it can...
  18. Broken In Enough to Hammer it a Little

Three things: 1. For all you know I may have done just that, nor do you or anyone else know how my car was driven up to 1400 miles. 2. In no way, shape, or form am I an "approval seeker" either on this forum or anywhere with anyone in my life. One thing I've learned is to live with...
  19. Wanting to buy a new Mustang, want to hear others opinions.

You and me both. I can't wait for the day when I look at my car and say, "man, what a blast I've had with it, time for something else now". It's called, "fun".
  20. S650 vs RZ34 (Nissan Z)

They most definitely have where I live and that's what counts to me.
