Sounds like they are throwing parts at it.
If you need catalytic converters hit up a local muffler shop⦠will be cheaper.
I would say might be worth it to just take it to a dealer and pay the diagnostic fee.
Or try to find a shop with an ASE L1 certified tech..lots of techs are ASE...
Itās one thing to use cheaper parts that wonāt last 200k miles⦠itās another to suggest that Ford created additional expense to make something fail earlier⦠making those holes cost Ford moneyā¦
Plus is they really did do that so the S650 would fail ā¦
Then what did they do that you canāt see...
Gravel ends up in random places on GT350s⦠famous for the rear pan by the exhaustā¦
I would imagine it would cost Ford more to create the holes behind the wheels then to leave the panel solid⦠itās an extra manufacturing stepā¦
There is a reason they are there
Personally I wouldnāt go...
Itās an S650 with the Dark Horse motor but extreme weight reduction⦠carbon fiber⦠rear seat delete ⦠since lighter weight they will call it the Light Horse instead of Dark Horse š
Unfortunately the new NSX suffered from the same fate in a way as the S650....
The traditionalists dont like the screens on the S650 ...... and they didnt like the electric hybrid set up on the new NSX....so they never sold that well.... that being said they are a pretty amazing experience...
Honestly if I were to buy a GT instead of a Dark Horse Iād probably go A10⦠whippleā¦bigs and littlesā¦some weight reduction⦠Dark Horse Iād go more towards a handling set up and would get the manualā¦
I donāt think I would go manual in a GT
But thatās just me lol
After spending a ton of wheel time in my buddyās NSX ⦠electric motors at the front and twin turbo 6 at the backā¦
I will say that could be the Mustang that might get me to move into an S650 if they built a high performance V8 electric hybrid and kept the weight reasonable ⦠he also has a...
Sorry but that looks horrible
The only acceptable aftermarket shifter for an automatic is something like thisā¦
And only if your car is noticeably faster then stock...
You have to pay to play.
Yes you can always go faster for cheaper but if that is your argument then why not just buy a cheaper S550 and bolt on forced induction?
Or how about fox body plus twin turbo junkyard LS swap ā¦
Or if you donāt care about noise a used tesla model 3 performance...
I want to comment on this thread but canāt because Iāve never driven a Dark Horse
I can comment on GT vs GT350 as I used to own a PP1 and have driven an S650 PP
The 350 feels like a completely different car ⦠the difference in handling and driving characteristics is massive ā¦
Iām a little...
There are a few exclusive Mustangs
2015 GT350R
The carbon fiber heritage edition cars
Of course all the early model Boss 429⦠Shelbyās exc
Will be interesting to see what final production numbers are on the Dark Horse ⦠I believe I have seen chassis numbers all ready into the mid 3000s...
sold = delivered.....there were no gen 7 deliveries in Q1 2023 so 2023 numbers are pure S550
However.... Q1 2024....there could have been a few S550 sales in those numbers
Cool thank you - great insight....and yes I agree 100% on the stock C8 exhaust- I drove a few and the lack of sound definitely put me off.... but I still browse autotrader for them all the time.....of course I also browse for GT500s too lol
