In case we’re all wondering how the GTD catalytic converters hold up. You can now buy them online at 2600 a pop.

Then to install them on our stangs?
Yeah, yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah that’s what I was thinking. No, I don’t know if the headers does anybody know if they’re a direct fit to 5.0 coyote should be I think it’s the same bore spacing.
The important thing is these converters should be able to handle or aftermarket Whipple although this might just be the exact same part for the GT 500. I’ve been too lazy to look it up.

The right side exhaust manifold is the same part number.
Un Fortunately, it looks like the left side still has the converter attached to the header on the GT‘s

All of the parts for the GTD have been in the online catalog for some time. None of the bespoke pieces are inexpensive, and many of the replacement body parts are not only expensive, but require the car be sent to Multimatic for installation.

Converters designed to handle 800-1200 horsepower have been on the market for a long, long time. All of the folks saying that forced induction will damage your converters are of course correct. Ford spent what it spent to handle your 480 horsepower engine. Ford did not spend what would be required to install converters that could handle twice or three times that level of power.

They are available, though, and you can buy them. They are not cheap.

Even the upgraded converters that some of the header manufacturers and Mustang vendors sell are not rated for the kind of horsepower some folks are pushing.

If you want to see the cost of 1200 hp rated converters, then go here:
https://www.gsportbygesi.com/g-sport-emissions-systems-products
search for 1,200, and click on Add to Cart to see the price of the 85600.

It is not Ford catalog markup expensive, but it is expensive enough that Mustang owners prefer simply to forgo the converters when upgrading to forced induction.

It is a cost decision, not a decision based on "no converter can handle a Whipple on a Mustang." Or ignorance. Some do not even know that better designs are out there.

Would you please provide the link to any available Mustang GTD parts online at the official Ford website? My search thus far did not yield any results for the GTD. Thank you.

I was going to say the same thing. I've been studying GTD part listings for months.

Nothing to do with bore spacing (which is the same BTW). The inner 2 tubes have the opposite bolt layout when comparing GTD/GT500/DH SC manifolds, plus the GTD and the DH SC have a taller header tube flange to allow for the holes for the air injection system. So you can't use these manifolds on a Mustang GT.

The in house Ford catalog system has the GTD as a completely separate vehicle altogether from the regular S650. Looked at the rotor and brakes yesterday, yikes! 5 grand per rotor!
