Yes, $2.6 billion earnings before taxes in 2025. This is a significant chunk of Ford's overall profit. The biggest profit maker, however, are sales of new F-150s, which young influencers are not purchasing at all. Basically middle aged dudes. And on credit from Ford Motor Credit, so Ford gets a two-fer on the profit from these trucks.

And they can be had with a Coyote
and Whipple makes a kit
and Hellion turbo makes a kit
2.6 billion on EBIT companywide of 6.7 billion, but a loss for 2025 overall (because EBIT excludes interest and taxes . . .)

So it would have been worse in 2025 without Ford Motor Credit. Bad year for Ford.

Nevertheless, Ford turns out an F-150 every 53 seconds.

There IS a tune, it was C.A.R.B. approved, there is even a Ford P/N attached to the tune in the filing/approval from the California Air Resources Board.


If youā€˜re speaking of the M-9603-M50D, Ford Performance says ā€œthat it is not availableā€œ and at the time of my conversation with the Tech Support guy online he wasn’t sure that it would ever be released to the Public. He informed me that the Part# was just a ā€œplace holderā€ in the event that they (Ford Motor Company) do release the Factory Tune to the Consumer. For the S550, that tune for the Coyote came a few years later on so maybe that’s the case for the S650 and I hope to still be in possession of mines at that time. 😁

Local Ford dealer says the Order Bank isn't open yet. The Ford Build & Price website isn't updated yet. Not sure if the bank is open yet or not.

Man, the number of idiots out there saying "Why wouldn't you just stick a Whipple on Dark Horse"

A stage 1, warrantied Whipple car, MIGHT equal the GT500/SC in the 1/4 mile. Some of them don't break into the 130mph traps. And remember the 6 speeds are a lot slower than the automatics. But at least they aren't "boring"....

Ford wants $10,500 for the kit, and the dealer is going to want $2,500 to install that. So we're at $13,000 plus whatever price you paid for the Mustang GT.

So add that to the $77,655 price of a Dark Horse with the Handling Pack, and you get $90,655

You're only $15,000 short of the DHSC starting price of ~ $105,000

So what do you get for that extra $?

The obvious thing is all the cooling upgrades over the regular DH. Different front fascia for more airflow, brake cooling, and the massive vents on the hood. Essential if you even think of taking your supercharged Dark Horse on a road course.

You get a DCT that can hold the power of the supercharged 5.2. You won't be dealing with the 10R80 that's going to need a rebuild.

Slightly larger engine with upgraded rods AND pistons. Since gen 2, stock Coyotes have been known to hold a lot of power but you're still rolling the dice.

Oh yea....a real warranty. Remember when you put the Whipple on the Mustang you're going from a 5/60 warranty down to a very limited 3/36 warranty.

Our total liability per covered vehicle under this warranty is limited to $9,500.00 USD (aggregate). Each covered

component has its own aggregate value which when combined equals the total liability per vehicle. The engine is covered

for $7500.00 USD and
$2000.00 USD per transmission.
Will your dealership replace a transmission for $2,000.00? Will they replace the motor for $7,500? Good luck! Plus, you have no "warranty" left after you spend your $9,500.

Also, the Whipple warranty doesn't cover 'exhaust', so if your cats burn up (and they very likely will, good luck). Axles aren't covered either if you pop one.

Another thing to think about is resale value. If it's like the GT500, the DH SC should hold its value very well. A supercharged Dark Horse on the other hand...

Also, if you want to throw the warranty out the window, do a Whipple stage 2, add headers, axles, blah blah, you can easily go faster than the DH SC. But you can also tune/pulley/etc the DH SC as well.

What dealers are allowing low priced DHSC orders at MSRP and no markups? My local dealer thinks he can still get ADM on a regular DH, which is why I just bought out of state for $7,500 off MSRP. He still wants $30k over for a Raptor R.

Don't forget the whipple warranty does not transfer to a new owner
