Agreed. If changing the sub, an amp is really important. When I swapped in a Hertz sub, I added an Audison amp and the sound is unreal even in a convertible.
Just another tidbit I just found out. If you have the FP version installed but can't get the tune, you can actually get the tune as if you had the Whipple version installed. BUT... no warranty. I realize that almost no one wants to take that risk. I'm just saying it's an option...
Well, the warranty is actually covered by Whipple even if it's the FP version. So, I don't think that's it if Whipple is confident enough to resume sending out their calibrations.
I think the timing is speculation. When I spoke to a higher up at Whipple he told me that when the reason for the hold is made public, it will be laughable as it's so insignificant. Ford is indeed the holdup and unless something has changed in the last 24 hours, they still aren't providing...
You were never getting a free motor under warranty from the Whipple or FP warranty. Those cover $7500 and it's all through Whipple. Installing a SC is a self warrantied endeavor. You may get a portion back if you smoke your coyote but you're never fully covered.
I understand the logic behind the timing theory (causing the hold.) May or may not be it. Time will tell. I don't think it's going to be much longer... 🤞🏻
Not that I know of and technically, the warranty offered on the FP Whipple is also paid for / covered by Whipple. And, it's only $7500 on the Whipple version and $8k on the FP version. (I think those amounts are right but if I'm off by $500, take it easy on me. Close enough for government...
I stayed with cassette because I didn't want to cut a DIN hole in my 3 hole 69 Camaro dash just to get CD capability. I mean, it had auto reverse so no need to get crazy... LOL...
