Even if we had enough money that we could buy each other automobiles as surprise gifts, there's no way either of us would do that. We're both way too picky about cars to be satisfied with one that someone else picked out for us.

I think it also keeps track of engine temperatures and crankshaft revolutions. Presumably, 40 miles driven on a racetrack is going to be calculated differently than 40 miles driven with the cruise control on at 2500 rpm.

Same here. Maybe in some big luxo-barge, a larger engine with a 6000 rpm redline would be more appropriate, but I dig having a V8 that can rev to over 7000 rpm and feel like it wants to keep going.

Exactly. From everything I've read, the Mach E is a terrific car, but it should not have been branded as a Mustang. Want to make a sedan based on the Mustang chassis? Great. Call it Fusion, Torino, Futura, Galaxie, or some other well-remembered name from Ford's past. Not Mustang!
