Had issues with out of roundness on after market options before these and didn’t want to take the risk going through that again after reading the quality control that OEM wheels go through.

Same style yes, but not same set. The set I have are 10.5 fronts, 11 in the rear. Ford no longer produces the set, so the 11s are permanently out of stock and the 10.5s are whatever stock is left. That is why it is such a hard set to find.

Yeah, you definitely notice a handling difference with a 10.5 up there. Car feels much more stable and comfortable at speed.

Performance pack 2 wheels which came with the s550 performance package 2. The wheels aren’t made anymore and it’s hard to find someone willing to give them up, at least in my area lol.

Being patient paid off! Was able to find a set of OEM PP2 wheels on marketplace. They were in pretty bad shape, so got them fixed and powder coated and man do I love this look!

Just used the stethoscope on the car. The tapping was there on the cold start, but it wasn’t as pronounced. I held the stethoscope in all the places I think would be hotspots. The only one that returned serious vibration was the PCV valve. I will continue doing tests though, but not worried.

I agree with you. I think I am just a little nervous because I’ve had two prior coyotes that never made this kind of tapping noise so I think I’m just looking to put my mind at ease a little bit. Appreciate everyone helping. Love this community

Yeah that is my only worry, I can live with the noise if that’s all it is. it makes me concerned that it is a relatively new sound that only appears on random cold starts. I just got a mechanic stethoscope, so I am going to see if I have any luck narrowing it down myself.

Are the taps yours makes identical to mine? Mine started doing it around 4800 miles. If so, did the tech ever tell you why it happens inconsistently? My biggest concern is it coming and going, where as the bbq tick, it does it all the time.

I haven’t looked into it yet because it is a new quirk and it doesn’t bother me as long as it isn’t detrimental. What has me curious is that the car doesn’t do it every cold start, only on some and goes away once the car is warmed up and driven. It isn’t the arching sound, it is the higher...

I’m thinking PCV because it sounds like it is coming from that side around the valve cover area.

Car has recently developed this tick noise that is different from the bbq tick on cold starts. It does this inconsistently, and seems to do it more so on cooler days. After the car is warmed up and driven, the tick disappears. When the car is warm started, it also hasn’t done it. My guesses are...
