Maybe a Forscan expert could look up to see if there is a setting to disable the feature. If there's a setting to turn it off, I guess it's built into the car. The guys responding to my thead about making the Ecoboost exhaust quieter seemed positive the "fake" sound was in there.
Actually, it's the reverse. Base exhausts have resonators, active exhausts do not. I don't know the engineering reason, but I can confirm my bone stock active exhaust car has no resonator and looking at online Ford OEM parts diagrams says the same thing. I'm hoping that adding a resonator will...
I have a thread going about making my 2024 quieter and there has been a suggestion that turning off exhaust sounds through the speakers might help. First of all, can anybody confirm that an EcoBoost convertible actually plays engine sounds through the speakers while driving? And if that's true...
If you performed an exhaust upgrade or a resonator delete on your 7th gen EcoBoost, I'm interested in buying a resonator for my 2024 Mustang. My car doesn't have a resonator and I want it add one and maybe make the car quieter. Let me know. Doesn't have to be a local transaction. I'd be willing...
OP again. With all the comments about the car's audio system playing exhaust sounds through the speakers I decided to perform a science experiment today and I removed the 20amp fuse #4 from the fuse box down in the footwell area of the passenger seat. The owner's manual says this is for the...
I'm the OP. Today I was able to find a dealer 50 miles away who had a 2025 EcoBoost but without the active exhaust. The salesman got the fob and I stood behind the car at the cold start. It was actually louder than my active exhaust model (in quiet start mode). This was what my salesman told me...
I think so too. What I haven't done yet is to see if this the same part number for the resonator on 6th gen EcoBoost cars. If so, I might be able to find a used one on Ebay.
I don't have Forscan software or the background for using it. It looks kind of risky in the sense I could mess up something else if I made a mistake. Plus, as I said, I can hear the deep tone coming from the exhaust tips.
I don't think the sound I'm hearing at low rpms is coming from the audio system. It happens at very small, to zero throttle (under deceleration) and I doubt they'd generate fake sounds under those conditions. Plus, when I get out of the car at idle I can hear these tones coming directly from the...
Follow-up. I looked under my car and don't see a resonator. Just a short corrugated flex pipe and then a short section of straight pipe that has a Y fitting to turn it into two pipes going back to the mufflers.
So now I'm going to try and look up a parts diagram from one of the dealers that...
I posted my thread about needing a quieter exhaust on the S550 forum and was told that at least for the S550 series, the Ecoboost exhaust without the Active Exhaust option come with a factory resonator upstream of the mufflers, but Ford deletes the resonator for the Active Exhaust cars. One guy...
I don't have the software to do this myself, so the suggestion that the dealer might do this is good to hear. I think what I'm going to do is pull the fuse for the amp and see what happens and go from there.
Thanks for the info on the amp. I just ordered refurbished airpods with noise cancellation from Best Buy and I hope they help a little. Supposed to get them Saturday.
