I've considered trading for a 60th. In the past, all the BULLITS and Shelby's I've owned have held their value very well. Mach 1's are doing well. 50th Anniversary cars are in the $30K range. In my area there are two Anniversary cars on the lot. One is $60,565, reduced to $51,542, the other is $64,755 reduced to $56266. They have been on the lot for a while....
What are the colors and options of them 🤔

Out here in California a good number of new 60th anniversary cars still on the lots with massive discounts as well.....both colors....convertibles...hardtops....all with around 10k discounts off sticker

There are also a few Dark Horse Carbon Fiber wheel painted stripe cars that are new and marked down into the high 70s

If one is going to hold its value longer - its going to be the Dark Horse

High performance Mustangs have always done better historically - just look at the value of fox body Cobras vs all other fox bodies for example.....

Mustangs with bespoke engines always do the best though......(nothing against the Coyote...I love that motor)

White rims and plaid interior.....anyone remember the Bay City Rollers (my younger sister had posters of them on her wall). There's nothing at all in the 60 anniversary "special" that appeals to me and IMO the new Califirnia Specials are not as good looking as earlier versions. Buy what you want to drive and enjoy it. Want to make money, buy some good stocks and hold them. Better yet pick a good ETF with a nice dividend and enjoy. Purchasing vehicles to make money is a fool's game unless you are one of the 2% ers with more money than brains.

It's not about an investment, just looking for straightforward options on which one was or would be the better buy, say what you will about the 60th Anniversary, but it does have it's place at the table 😉

@Snowflee17 I assumed it was about "money" as your questions was " I wonder which one will carry the better selling price in 5, 10 15 years" ...... that sounded like a money/investment question to me - hence my reply. Just sayin'.....

That's part of it, but it is more about valuation of the 2 models in the future!?

I didn’t buy it for the future value. I bought it to enjoy it now. I’ve even gone so far as to drill holes in the trunk deck to install a OEM dark horse performance pack spoiler and a larger front spoiler as well. Next week it gets lowering springs and a set of sway bars. I’m gonna enjoy this car like it was meant to be driven.

Optioned with:
3.55 Axle
Brembo brake package
Active Valve exhaust
B&O stereo

Congratulations, but my point is which one will have the better valuation?

Sorry but anniversary editions are usually worth not much more then a standard GT....

It's a wheel and sticker package

If you like it cool...drive it and enjoy it but I wouldn't bank on it being worth anything more then a normal GT in the future... you might get 1k or 2k more 10 years from now but that's about it ...

You’re right. I didn’t answer your question. By better valuation, I’m assuming the least amount of depreciation as a percent of purchase price? I don’t think it’ll be a significant difference between the two if the two cars were driven and maintained the same.

Ask all the people who mortgaged their homes and cashed in retirement savings to buy a 100th Anniversary Edition Harley Davidson motorcycle how that worked out for them. Also the people who bought 95th, 105, 110 ,115, and 120th anniversary models.

There is NOTHING special about an available to anyone model Mustang. GTD's yes, run of the mill off any dealer lot Mustang it is just another depreciating asset.

So your question should be, which car is going to retain the most value so that when I sell it I will take the smallest loss.

Nobody knows because it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

@Neggytive ..... yes. @Upacurb ..... yes. With cars and boats financial appreciation is very, very rare. There are so many better ways to accrue wealth or not lose wealth. Cars and boats were meant to driven for fun..... and in my world fun always costs. It's what it is.

I'm pretty happy with my Anniversary edition, 1932/1964 - I think to the right buyer, it might hold some value, and being that its numberd and after a few years, the ones on the road will go down. But, end of the day, it's just the S650 with a few extra things (not really much).

Mine was optioned with the red/black interior, which does have a more premium look.

I got mine with 232 miles on it for under 50K (out the door) - and have yet to see another 60th anniversary here on the roads in Utah.

Which spoiler and front splitter did you do? Do you have a link?

Someone local is selling a front splitter for Dark Horse for $50 (brand new) but was told that it wouldn't work on the GT
