Ive owned close to 20 Mustangs in my life. I am currently hunting a 2012 Laguna Seca or Reg Boss 302. I found a rare ingot Silver LS w/ 7000 miles but i couldnt take the pics i recieved, ( i could show them if anyone wants) So then i found 2012 white Boss with 6000 miles and had it inspected today. It was painted everywhere. (pics of that also) So my usual Ford dealer has been sitting on his one and only Vapor DH for months and can't sell it. It has every option but the handling package. MSRP $74,755 and I could get it for $66,000 I just can't get past these TV screens dash. I love and want real guages but it's not the time. Any advice? Any owners like me but now love the screens. They just look stuck on also and not built in. Is this car going to be a collectors item?

I was ambivalent on the dash screens, I like about 85%, 15% I'd revert.

the main cluster is very good. You can select between the 3 gauge clusters - normal, sport and track. Plus, you have a custom mode accessible. You can select additionally '68 gauges, '93 gauges or SVT gauges and marry them to all modes, or just a custom. So that part is nice.

The big center screen is great for navigation, which is really good, but you can actually see routes around where you are with the screen. it's a bit more of a chore to get from home to music to nav. and back than sync3, but it's ok.

There are no physical climate controls!!!!
These are a pain in the ass. The instant you touch the screen when you want to change temp or increase/decrease fan speed, you'll hit a bump, and select another option instead. Ask me how I know. If your are on glass smooth pavement, you'll hit a road side critter that will dart in front of you.

Nobody can say what they will command in the future. If we could, you'd know because we'd have every one built or we wouldn't be here.

That said, I think 66 is a bit high for a non handling pack car, IMO. 64 maybe.

It's a brand new 2025, $78,000 for $66,000 that's too much? I see used ones with 5-6,000 miles for $60-$65?

you said msrp was 74k in the first post

his one and only Vapor DH for months and can't sell it. It has every option but the handling package. MSRP $74,755 and I could get it for $66,000
not 78k. What does it have for 78k msrp?
My '24 msrp'd for almost 74k, I got for 68k in July '24. Premium, HP, auto, Recaros. I'm in a Dark Horse desert, and everyone around me using the search was carrying a stiff ADM, and 3 of 5 finalists would lower it but not come off it. This one was under MSRP and I probably had another 1k - 1200 left on the table that if I were a better negotiator, would have saved, but I was concerned it would get snapped up and I agreed to the ~68.5k
so I got ~5.5k off, and left about another 1k on the table.

Mine was new, and new MY, the one you're looking it is already a MY old. It's been sitting for how long?

Yes, you would bet getting a good deal - better than I did, but if you're financing, you'll be upside down immediately and a deep hole. If it stickers 78k and you can get it for 66, that sounds better, for sure.

What matters is, does the car do it for you? Only you can answer that question. Go get a good test drive and let us know.

66 is a good price if you want the car. Don't buy it just because it's a good price. The screens are OK, you'll get used to them.

You better practice getting in and out with those seats. It was a deal-breaker for me.

It's a Mustang, it's just an option/trim package, it won't be a future classic or collector's item.

Although the S650 is a decent car, all varieties have the SCREEN! If you have doubts, you won't be happy with the car. I have a 2024 GT Premium. I've owned many Mustangs and as a GEEZER, I force myself to think the dash is great. I absolutely hate the HVAC controls. They are small icons and very difficult to locate when driving, a true safety hazard. The cars have great power, handling and ride. The interior is very nice and comfortable. Honestly, any Mustang beyond 2013 can be an issue for those who don't appreciate the new high-tech world. In addition, long term ownership could be a problem. A new screen after 3 years or 36K miles will cost thousands to repair or replace. Add in over the air updates and all the control modules and you may have second thoughts. It is what it is if you want to enjoy an S650.

Good points, I use my cars as garage queens. Around the block and maybe a car show. If I could put it in my living room I would. But your right about the dash. I may stick to my wanting a 2015 50th Ann in Kona
