Sometimes my Car Play doesn't connect right away. I go to settings on the dash, then phone list. On the phone I am using there is an Apple Car Play Icon. That usually works to wake up the Car Play.

When Apple Car Play doesn't connect I do the same thing. It is weird that I can go for weeks and no problems and then it hiccups! Glenn

I shouldn't have said anything! Today, the CarPlay GPS directions work, but voice instructions wouldn't. I did the phone list trick, and the GPS routing still worked, but no voice instructions. I hate the fact that car manufacturers can't get CarPlay to work all the time. Glenn

Did you touch the navigation map when CarPlay came up? In the upper right side of the map screen will be volume symbols. Make sure the mute symbol is not chosen. You can touch the one that has no line thru it and it should work.

Sent my vehicle again for inspection today and also front driver door speaker change as it rattles alot.
According to dealer this is totally normal and it is sealed properly , so nothing can be done from their end.
I am not satisifed with their response so contacted ford directly.
Waiting for their response now.

How do you know it is definitely the speaker? Maybe it is something else rattling. Glenn

Are you saying that button only mutes the GPS voice instructions? Because the stereo sound worked fine in Car Play and Sirius. I will check that icon! Glenn

Yes, when you have the map displayed for CarPlay navigation, touch the upper right of the map. Three sound icons will pop up. One for sound on, one for alerts only, and one for no sound from the map directions. It sounds like your icon for no sound is chosen. Just push the "Sound on" icon to get voice directions etc. It will not affect your stereo sound or anything else. When the voice comes on, you can adjust the level with the volume control on your radio, but only while the "Prompt" sound is talking.

It only happens when temperature fall below 0 degree Celcius
And i got it diagnosed , it is not the speaker itself , its the speaker holding plastic bracket which either breakes or make that rattling sound when it gets stiff in freezing temperature .
It is the second time in last 1 year i got it replaced.
I hope this problem doesn’t occur in future.

Yes, when you have the map displayed for CarPlay navigation, touch the upper right of the map. Three sound icons will pop up.
