Has anyone had the BCM water leak recall done yet? Could you share which dealer you had it done at and if they were able to return your vehicle the same day, and maybe your overall experience with the dealer?

I’m asking members for their experiences with getting it fixed (specifically) at tristate dealers. I am not asking about the recall.or the procedure itself. Purpose is to use a dealer someone would recommend as it is posted in the tristate sub forum.

I called my dealer to schedule an appointment and the service writer told me not to bring it in unless it was already leaking. This in Columbia, SC dealer is Classic Ford.

I had mine done by Jacky Jones Ford in Hayesville, NC. Dropped it off in the morning at 0800 and picked it up at 3 PM, all done. Apparently mine didn't require any major parts, I didn't notice any leaking.

I'm hoping to find a dealer here like yours. I’ve been reading the BCM recall thread since the beginning, and man some members had to leave their cars for days, some even had to wait for a new windshield when their dealer broke it during the fix (the fix apparently requires yanking on the windshield to seal the bottom). What a headache.

Yeah, try selling or trading a car with an open recall.

I just went to a ford dealer in ontario to get mine fixed.
After my visit for the BCM water intrusion recall, I noticed some gaps at the bottom corners of my windshield where the glass meets the cowl/trim. The cowl doesn’t look flush and the urethane is exposed, with water collecting there. I’ve attached a couple of photos.

My Ford Dealership said when I bring it in they would give me a Rental Car at no charge to me.
They have to keep the Mustang over night.
They do the Repair & wash the car to find any leaks.
I told the Service writer I get my Car washed at least twice a week at my car wash place.
No problems. Every thing seems to work ok.
The only issue I have is sometimes my Car Play doesn’t always work at first.
There seems to be a Lag at first start up.

Holly crap! Why did you even take the car back? I told my dealer I am not doing it anytime soon and certainly not before the Spring. If I were you I would have my lawyer drop the car off! Glenn

I took my 2024 in this week for the recall. It has been garage since I bought it. They gave it back to me the next morning and said everything was done and it passed. No idea what that means. I'm hoping they actually did something rather than just look and see if it leaked and because it didn't.. being in the garage... They didn't seal it. The paperwork I got back from them just says passed inspection. Anyone have any comments about what they did?

There’s another thread where they discuss the procedure in depth. Subject has “BMC Recall” if you’d like to search for it. From what i remember, procedure requires applying sealant under cowl regardless if it has a current leak or not, they then test to make sure there aren’t’ any leaks.

Well my vehicle was in the service bay for 20 minutes then parked in their parking lot for a day. 8 monitored it on the app. Wasn't started again. Never got wet so they did not test for leaks. I think they just checked to see if it shows signs of leaking and just gave it back.

Sometimes my Car Play doesn't connect right away. I go to settings on the dash, then phone list. On the phone I am using there is an Apple Car Play Icon. That usually works to wake up the Car Play.
