I have a date of 1 Oct for my day at Charlotte Motor speedway. I was wondering if anyone else on the forum is scheduled for Tuesday the first of Oct. Actually the intro is Monday evening the 30th for free grub.

I will report back. I have a 3 pedal GT and I'm taking my 40 year old son as a guest. He doesn't know how to operate a manual gearbox. I hope they will let him drive a auto. If not I get all the driving time.

I’m headed to the Oct 6/7 event. All the way from California, but the flight and hotel were cheap so I didn’t want to pass on the opportunity.

The morning is all automatic cars so he can participate in those activities. For the afternoon you are assigned a Dark Horse and if you signed up for the manual that is what you will be assigned. Unfortunately for your son that means that he won't get to drive the road course.

Also, don’t be afraid to wind it out on the Autocross because that’s what they use to figure out which grouping you will be in for the big track in the afternoon. Fastest autocross folks will end up in the fastest group for the big track.
Also, the first 2 runs on the big track, STAY IN LINE! Don’t go veering off the racing line even though you aren’t really going anywhere near fast enough to need to stay on it (ie needing to “track out”) - they will only speed the group up if they see everyone doing the racing line properly.
Otherwise, have a blast! It’s awesome getting up on the high banking with your foot to the firewall and feeling the Gs load up, and then feeling the car getting a little squirrelly under you during heavy braking on the back straight going from 115 down to 30 to make the hairpin.

Do you have to receive an invitation in the mail to participate. I bought my car in May and don't recall ever seeing an invitation in the mail.
