I don't know if it was just me or what. When I opened the app from my email this a.m. I ended up with a virus. Every time I tried to close a tab it just replicated and my computer froze. Wouldn't respond to any commands. Shut it down and cleaned it out. Did anyone else have this problem?

I've noticed something going on with the Domain Name System (DNS) record for the 7G site.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domain_Name_System

https://www.pcmag.com/how-to/what-is-dns-how-it-works-domain-name-system

Sometimes, I'm directed to this site, the true 7G site. Twenty-five percent of the time or so, I'm directed to a mock 7G site, one that is clearly a scam/virus site.

The actual DNS record is under the control of the 7G owners and operators. But that doesn't stop scammers from launching their own DNS root repository and occasionally capturing a few unknowing.

I haven't been using the phone app. But if you suspect something has been compromised, I'd delete the app, then shutdown the phone for a period before restarting.

For any app, I do not allow access to photos, videos, personal items or folders. I don't use location features. I do not link or reference other accounts. For example, while I have a leading vendor account and information, I never use or link that with anything else. The compromising of one will compromise them all. 7G is a unique login and password, so if there is a breach, it's limited. I do this will all my accounts and passwords.

In addition to that, I do not automatically display photos or launch links for any e-mail received, any company, even the ones I consistently use. The slightest malicious code can be installed in any of these items, and with auto-display of those files or launch of links, the code initiates.

It takes time, but go through the entire phone, every menu, and review any features. Disable every feature, app and interface you're not consistently using. Delete caches from apps. You want just enough access and ability to use the phone to meet your needs, and no more. Do the same on all home electronics.

Finally, if it just doesn't look right or something seems off, pause. Hackers are sometimes so simple, it's obvious. Others, you sometimes have to study more in-depth information to see what the e-mail, text or attachment really is. Hackers are striking millions of people daily. The compromise of even a few can be meaningful.

Any link you have in an e-mail, or any prior reference, might have been compromised. While in your phone's browser, I'd go to the following to re-install:

I've noticed something going on …
If dns poison is suspected the resolver should be flushed as well. The ‘local’ dns cache can be cleared in windows with: ipconfig /flushdns.

on iphone:
When Airplane Mode is toggled on, the icon turns orange to denote that all cellular services are currently shut down, which will also prompt iOS to flush the system’s DNS cache. After about 15 seconds, tap the Airplane Mode icon again to re-enable wireless services.

It's not DNS. It's a redirect from an ad.
