Trim piece?

I found this small black piece loose on the driver's floorboard in front of the seat. Does anyone know where it might belong? It looks like it slipped off

of something.

It holds the carpet in place in the footwell

Thanks. I looked around the driver seat floor area and I couldn't see where it goes. Could you please take a picture if it's not too much of a bother?

Sometimes a worker fumbles a part, doesn't see where it flew to, and just grabs another one. It may just be an extra.
