I just bought my 2024 Mustang two months ago and I have noticed some type of issue with the paint in a few spots on my roof and hood. There are chips in the paint, but at the chips there are spots where the paint seems to be coming up like there is an issue under the paint. Its hard to explain and you cant really see it in pictures. But its noticeable when you look at it in person, one spot is about as big as a finger tip. But there were spots that I've noticed doing that before there was even a chip at the location. I brought it to the dealership and one guy said that its from something acidic getting on my car after it was chipped. I dont buy that, simply because Ive noticed it doing it in a couple places before there ever even was a paint chip missing. And its only on one side of the chip that I am seeing this happen. If something acidic got on it, then it seems like the chip would be the center point and it would be doing this flaking thing all around the chip. So I think that the chips im seeing may be coming from the paint starting to have this issue first from under the paint and it eventually flakes off.
Ford said they wont cover it because in the pictures it looks like its just a chip. And the Dealership wont cover it either.
If it was just a chip I have touch-up paint to fix that myself. But I cant sand and paint the spots where this is happening. And I dont feel like I should be having this issue on a car that is only 2 months old anyway. In total there are around 5 spots where i have found so far that this is happening between my roof and hood

just curious if anyone else has seen this issue and what the outcome was.

Similar issues on my ‘24 GT/CS. Paint damage on the rear bumper. Looked like a popped paint bubble but one dealer told me it was likely carrier damage. My dealer is going to fix it. Also 4 bubbles on the inside of the trunk lid. The dealer says that’s a warranty issue but said Ford will only cover it if it’s found within the first 90 days of ownership.

The 2015 s550 15/16 MY had a similar flaw. Mine did not show up until 5-6 years later. My dealership service manager said that there was a mismatch between the aluminum hood and the paint formulation. He said that that there was essentially corrosion in the aluminum. The f-150 had the same issue with its aluminum panels. There was a limited warranty program for some of those, but the Mustang was not covered. My choice at that time was sand and repaint the hood ($1200) and it would come back; or new hood with new aluminum/paint formulation ($2500). I chose not to do anything. Beyond the 3-4 spots on the leading edge of the hood, it has not progressed any worse in the last 3 years.

They indicated that the problem had been corrected, but when I get my 24 or 25, I will certainly follow this to see if it reoccurs.

I would definitely push to get an answer from Ford before they can sweep it under the rug again.
