Hi everyone, exactly one year ago I bought a replica Darkhorse spoiler with gurney flap from W2 Body Kits that came painted gloss black. One year later I've noticed that the paint is starting to slowly fade and the black isn't as rich as the oem paint of the car.

I was thinking of getting only the whole spoiler repainted but I'm not sure how much that whole process would cost here in Cali.

My other option was to buy a OEM GT performance pack spoiler that came already painted by Ford (shadow black) and also with the trunk module. I found a seller on ebay with great reviews selling it for $350.

What would you guys do or recommend?? Thanks

A lot of variables to think about.

1. Aside from the paint issues is the quality of the aftermarket DH spolier up to par?
2. Are you okay with the look of the OEM PP spolier?
3. There are a fair amount of GT owners who opt for the DH spoiler vs. the PP.
4. If the DH spolier you have now is up to par I would have it painted and carry on.
5. If not, you could get the PP ebay spoiler. Unless the seller has detailed photos there is a chance it may need a repaint as well.

I'm not too sure how it compares from a OEM Darkhorse spoiler but its good besides the paint. I have noticed that the gurney flap does move a tiny bit even though its screwed in good and I used loctite on it. Not sure if that's normal or not.

My car came with the basic decklid spoiler and I really like both the darkhorse spoiler and the GT PP Spoiler.

GT PP:

I could always keep both since I'll have a trunk module attached to each spoiler. Hmm...

If I were to get the DH spoiler painted, I would have to figure out how many days the shop would need my car for. I'm not experienced in the whole car paint process. Not sure if they would have trouble painting the car while its mounted or if they would remove the trunk module.

The seller did say that it was used and pulled from a car with 50-100 miles and states it as a "OEM Take-off used". I could ask them for pics if possible but it is all original Ford parts.
