Next up is the Subwoofer replacement. The B&O sub is, to put it bluntly, shit. I have since replaced it with a Pioneer item that is 10x better. I added fill to the Sub enclosure just to give the low frequency a tightrer sound. This is personal preferance which I have done for every Sub enclosure I have had.
Note of warning, getting the exisiting surround cover off is touch and go. The guide I used warnmed to be easy, and I was not easy enough and broke it. Its now glues back together and left off until tomorrow which I will put back on. If it doesnt go back properly I will either leave it off or 3D print a new one.

Next up is the covers for the holes in the front wheel fender covers. I'll wait till tomorrow and give them a bit of a sand and paint with that engine firewall paint (not exactly sure what its called).

And lastly, I have installed a J&L Oil Separator catch can. Yes I know these motors are designed without the need to have this, but for my own piece of mind, I would prefer this oil vapor be collected instead of re-introduced into the head. All plu and play.
A warning though, that engine cover that sits under the Strut brace, this is carbon fiber. I thought it was just plastic made to look like carbon fiber, boy was I wrong. The top of my hands are all chopped up from running them underneath installing the Separator hoses without taking the cover off (even though the instructions said to I was being lazy), my car now has my DNA embedded in it.

Congratulations and thnx for sharing mate. Keen to know more about how you went about replacing the subwoofer. Can you point us towards the video tutorial you mentioned ?

and where did you get the sub from? With Amazon it will be shipped from the UK. Were you able to find it locally ?
And finally what would you have done differently whilst removing the ring? I am a bit wary of snapping the clips...

I got it from Dick Smith. Not sure where else locally but a google search may prove to help, or try ebay.
As far as the ring is concerned, I would be probably a little more gentle. Its tight, but more force on the removal tool where the clips are and less force pulling on it probably would have saved the ring from breaking. I have managed to salvage it using left over JB Weld but its obviously better not to break it in the first place. Put the removal tool where the 6 holes are. You can see them in the photo I took above. Thats the back side of the ring, so the removal tool you slide in the gap between the face and the back, and push the clip inwards which will release it. You will need another plastic chock as you work your way around, just dont pull too hard or you will do what I did and snap it.

Hi all,
My pickup day is locked in for next Thursday.
They're asking for transfer of the balance to them before then.
Is it normal to pay the full balance sight unseen?

(Sorry for the n00b question, but I've never done this sort of stuff before)

Yep typically you need to show proof of payment for the remaining balance prior to driving away. As always inspect the car thoroughly before signing the paperwork and driving off..search for new car checklists on the forum for some guides on what to look for
