To be clear, I am not claiming it is "all bull." I just don't know, and there is not sufficient information available to me searching on the internet to make a decision one way or the other on some of the marketing claims.
Understood. No worries.

SOLD: 2011 Mustang GT, 2016 Mustang V6, DH ordered
Just checking page 12 in the DH book that came with the purchase of the vehicle it clearly states that the DH uses the GT500 forged connecting rods. The crankshaft shares same steel forging as used on Mustang GT3. The cylinder heads have a new intake manifold with two 80mm throttle bodies. There is no more info on engine internals.

Interesting. I wonder if that is the forging prior to machining. The GT3 is a 5.4 liter engine that starts life as a Gen 4 Coyote 5.0. I can't find what they do to it to get the extra 0.4 liters of displacement.

The engine is modified with a larger bore and stroke, resulting in a 5.4-liter displacement. The cylinder block and heads remain similar to standard versions, and many parts like the valve train and crankshaft are shared with production models.

Engine BaseCoyote V8 (S650 Mustang derived)
Displacement5.4 liters (94 mm bore x 96.5 mm stroke)
Fuel DeliveryDirect injection only.

Only direct injection is used to keep the system simple and reliable for long races.

And that is all I can find.

So maybe they machine a production forging for a slightly longer stroke. Stock stroke is 92.7 mm. Stock bore is 93, so they increase the bore by only one mm. The increased displacement is almost entirely due to the increased stroke of 3.8 mm.
