I recently purchased the chemical guys cleaning kit. Previously I rinsed the top good and wiped down with micro fiber.
I used the cleaner from chem guys but didn't yet apply the protector. Ran out of time...
How often do you clean and apply protector?
I don't leave it parked outside, garage at home and work.

@Gene3 ...... you will likely get a lot of answers as member's tops are subjected to varied conditions based on storage and location in the country. Like yours mine is garage stored. I live in a northern climate where I store it from late November to late April. I have a lot of experience waterproofing marine and automotive canvas as I have owned a lot of boats and convertibles. IMO the biggest mistake most owners make is "over waterproofing" which can create chemical marks and stiff canvas. When I just purchase a Mustang (I've had 5) I wait a couple of months then do a serious shop vacuuming, clean it and waterproof it. I do the waterproofing the same day as the cleaning to avoid dirt getting on the top in between. I have just purchased a 2026 GT and will waterptoof it in a couple of weeks after is has been put up and down a couple of times and done some stretching. I do it on a hot day in the sun. I will likely wait a year before the second treatment then two years before the third as my convertible is really only a good weather driver. I use Auto Glym which I import from Rimmer Brothers in England but Chemical Brothers and Griots are also fine products. I do a lot of tops for friends (beers and steak lol) and some ask me to do it every year if their top is outside a lot. Also, a sign that a top should be done is if the top looks "dry" by that I mean the color looks a bit grayish instead of black. You can waterproof it every year if you wash it thoroughly with the "soap" provided in the kit as that should remove residual waterproofing. So, it really does depend on use. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Given that its garaged at home and at work, I feel like using the protector twice a year on the top would be plenty. Matt is correct in that you dont want to over do it.
