I don't have a front plate but if I did, I would wait for the car to show up. I don't know where I saw it but I read something that said the hardware for mounting the plates was included with the car. If that is the case, the problem is solved.
My 96 has more space for mounting the plate and you screwed it to the bumper. Ford made a couple of dimples to show were the plate should be mounted. I am sure somebody at Ford addressed the problem but nobody bothered to document it.
