Same here. Wifey wanted Atlas Blue with a stripe and Carmine Red interior . She's the artist so I went with it even though I was a bit nervous. It looks great and I get compliments all the time. The premium with the 401a accents the interior and makes it look "classy" for lack of a better term.
I went Premium with 401A and AE because the way I see it, I can always change suspension parts, tires, spoiler, chin spoiler, etc, but it's kind of difficult to change the creature comforts. My car is a cruiser with no track so for ME it's perfect. YMMV and that's the beauty of the Mustang...
I crashed a brand new 2000 Dodge Caravan on the way home from the dealer after picking it up. Some bozo cut me off. Minor damage, no insurance hit. Since then, my wife has driven all of our new cars home from the dealer!
My GT with AE and the A10 backfires/burbles when I let my foot off the accelerator and hit the brakes. Not all the time but enough to notice. At first I thought it was a clunk from the rear suspension / brakes I think there is a TSB for that one, but I noticed it does it much more frequently...
True statement. Unless it's a particular type of car that the thieves are looking for, in which case it will probably be carefully planned out, they target the low hanging fruit. Like an idiot who leaves the car running while going into the 7-11 for a cup of cafe.
I get it that the OP was satire. A set of bolt cutters on the steering wheel and it's gone. Personally, my FOB goes in a faraday box at home and I did test it. When traveling, I have a Faraday pouch for the FOB... I have the Premium / 401a alarm system... It seems pretty sensitive as when feral...
Unrelated but my 03 GT has been doing this since I purchased it and it now has 200k + miles on original engine and tranny.... I've been told it's the tranny pump. A Ford thing.
My Mustang had less than 10 miles on it. I forget the exact number but it was around 4 miles. My wife's 2024 VW Atlas had 35 miles on it. The bonus points for that was all the PCM/Modules had been updated prior to us picking up the Atlas.
I have a minor bumper fascia gap on the driver's side. Brought back to dealer and they showed me several cars on the lot that were the same or worse. Other than that, all my panels fit well. My standard is German cars, even VW, where gaps are even and very small. Mine are good though and when...
I chose a Premium 401a with AE and auto. My reasoning is I will never track the car. I like the twisty curves and spirited driving though but most of my driving is around town and trips up to the mountains. I enjoy the creature comforts / gadgets and from my line of thinking I can always...
Interesting thread... So my question is, does installing the STB cause any major interference for routine maintenance? Stuff like plugs etc.. I get it id removing heads and stuff like that will be difficult.
I did the same. I have a little Faraday box at home that all of the key fobs go in. I tested it by putting a fob in it and walking out to the car and no greet, nothing, so it works. I have a pouch when traveling. It passed the test as well.
As others have said you really can't compare insurance rates except with yourself. So for me, my 24 Mustang costs exactly $40 / year more than my 2003 GT vert for the same coverage. It's the safety and anti-theft features that drop the rate.
I was thinking of getting one of those under-carriage trolleys to spray off the underside of the car in winter but since it's freezing cold here during winter (NY) my outside spigots are turned off.
