I do know that he had to try a couple different ways before he saw it properly. On one screen, it didn't show up, but there's apparently multiple ways to get to the rebates, and when he went in the other way, it was there.
I don't know the system, so I can't tell you which way worked and which...
All I did was fill out the form and got the pin. When I went to the dealer, he pulled it up in the system, and found it attached to my name and applied it.
Essentially, the rate you get is locked for a certain time, normally 30 days. If you fall out of that range, then yes, they re-run the credit check to make sure you've not gone out and gotten a bunch of credit cards in the mean time. ;)
When you get pre-approved, they should tell you how...
You definitely let them know you want to buy on X-Plan up front, as stated above.
When you do financing, you normally get a 30 day lock on the rate, so you don't want to do that too early, and it only needs to be done when you take delivery. The dealer may want to try and do your financing...
Yes, you can get the pins immediately. I suspect for the x-plan pin, you'll need to have proof, but I could be wrong. I know for me, they required a copy of my employee badge for the x-plan pin I used (from my employer). But for the rebate, they didn't ask for proof.
Fortunately for me, I have X-Plan from work, so I knew about it before I went looking. We actually have partner programs for a good number of MFGs where I work.
I think it's pretty cool a place like EAA or MCA make it easy for the masses to get a decent price on a new car without having to...
You don't need your X-Plan pin until you take delivery. I don't see anything nefarious with his request to sign what he did for the $500 deposit. All the official stuff comes at delivery. Just make sure on the document you sign, it says refundable or not so there's no ambiguity if you decide...
You definitely want to disclose X-Plan prior to entering your order with a dealer. If you wait until after, you run the risk of them refusing and you either pay a higher amount, or you have to find a different dealer.
However, Rebates are different since the dealer isn't losing money with...
This makes absolutely no difference to the dealer. Rebates are handled different than A/D/X-Plan where the price to the buyer is set in stone. Rebates are paid by Ford to the dealer. So, instead of getting that $750 from you, they get it from Ford. My dealer told me to go find as many rebate...
To me, the $40 I spent to get the code was worth the gamble. $40 to get $710 seems like an easy chance to take.
My dealer told me that he'll plug in all the pins I have at the time of sale. I already have X-Plan and I now have a $750 Eaa pin. I've not received a $750 private cash offer, so I...
Exactly, they're 'losing' money because they aren't able to gouge the avg buyer with some of their first cars.
Once there are cars on people's lots, they wouldn't be able to do that, but there aren't so they see an opportunity to gouge.
it doesn't matter when you membership starts, only how long you membership lasts. 60 day membership is required. So, if you buy the year membership, you're good.
Just ask your dealer, tell him you're an eaa member and want to know if the offer would combine with the loyalty cash. He can see the offer, because I went in to my dealer yesterday and remember the eaa offer in the list, but didn't know how to qualify.
If you're curious about all the possible rebates, your dealer can look them all up. There's quite a list. Then you have to find out if you qualify for any of them and go get a code from the proper location.
