145k for a factory race car is pretty reasonable imo. Still have to pay sales tax and shipping. Tires will be expensive. Not clear if an individual can buy one for track days. I looked at the Multi matic form and it requires a race team website to be entered.
Agree, I considered a Radical at one point, some friends have them, but they seem to need a lot of fettling. And in a DE environment with mostly large, heavy street based cars I'd be a little nervous in one. The Porsche Clubsport is nearly ideal but there's something about a NA V8, MT race car...
I thought both S and R will have the same FIA cage- thought I read that somewhere.
edit-Looking back, I assumed the cages would be the same from the part about featuring all S content. maybe that's not correct.
"Dark Horse R raises the track-focused intensity, featuring all Dark Horse S...
Wasn't the FP350S about 115k? Seems DH-S would be more just due to inflation. I would agree 120+ seems likely. Glad to be proven wrong though! Not many options for factory built track/race cars. Even if in the 120s, still much less than the 718 Clubsport Trackday version. It was 195k+ after...
Just my 2c, I would be surprised if they don't offer a program for DH buyers. You could always sign up for one of their regular programs. I went when the school was at UMC years ago. For S and R buyers I wonder if many would be interested in a 1 day basic course.
Trofeo RS is a track focused tire that meets DOT for street use. Expect it will be comparable to the Michelin Cup 2 R. It was seen on the 992 GT3RS testing a couple months ago
maybe just an issue with Cup 2 but if you want to use the car to drive to/from track events it's a little annoying. Would be nice if the new chassis improves it but I kind of doubt it will.
I saw a FB post from FPRS describing "dealership available racing Mustangs for SCCA, NASA, and spec series." I think that refers to the S and possibly R models. The Ford Performance site has some description of the models but haven't seen detailed specs or pricing yet. Seems a key difference...
