    Maybe, but we're becoming a society that depends more and more on them. I've tried and find it difficult to think of a profession that isn't becoming dependent to some degree on them.

    And yet Europe uses 400v daily without undo harm to the common man. Are you afraid of parking under or near a service transformer? There's 7200 volts in that metal box in subdivisions that children play on every day. Don't dismiss 110v either, I've known 2 people electrocuted with 110v.

    For me it's mostly moot anyway. At 65 I suspect I'll be able to drive whatever I want/can afford as long as I'm still able to drive. Past that I'll just hope for a fast wheelchair.
