  1. Things are VERY Different now...

A vehicle equipped with an AGM battery needs an AGM battery, I've had cars come in with regular lead acid batteries in place of AGMs that have had weird electrical poroblems because of that. I think the advice given above is good, keep it charged with a tender if not a daily driver. For a period...
  2. Things are VERY Different now...

Regarding the batteries, I've not herard about them not being fully charged, or sitting or anyting like that, but we all think that the AGM batteries are crap, and I replace them 2/1 over lead acid ones. The second night I had my car, I sat in it for 45 minutes with the key on and not running...
  3. Things are VERY Different now...

Count me as another one who'd have liked a paper manual. None availble from Ford, and Helm's website said no stock, so I tied up a printer long enought print the PDF off the Ford site, and punched it for a 3 ring binder, and now can look at it any time. I work in service at a Ford dealer, the...
  4. Multiple Issues: Powertrain Fault, Engine Stall, Low Battery Charge

Maybe sensitive is the wrong word, but the last 5 years on the service drive they are more problematic. I understand why we use them though.
  5. Multiple Issues: Powertrain Fault, Engine Stall, Low Battery Charge

I can tell you that our dealership, we've had plenty of AGM battery issues. I know of three 24 mustangs in the last couple of months that we've had to put batteries in at very little mileage. With other vehicles like an F-150 usually the first symptom is the Auto stop start feature quits working...
  6. Water Coming From Hood Extractor On A '24 GT

Not concerned about damage, just ease of cleanup. Just how it is then.
  7. Water Coming From Hood Extractor On A '24 GT

I washed mine for the first time today, and when I opened the hood, water ran out of the extractor all over the engine compartment. From now on, I'll open the hood and put a towel down before washing, but are there any other ways to deal with this? Obviously you can't block it off, but maybe...
  8. Extended Warranties?

In my experience with those who are overly suspicious of crooked people, its usually because they are that way themselves. I bet a a lot of us have bought diamond jewelry for loved ones, and I can assure you that you were ass raped on that transaction far worse than you ever were at any...
  9. Extended Warranties?

Yeah, break the screen and there'll be no coverage, just for failures. Like park assist sensors, a failu is covered, but there is a scratch or ding on it, no. Everyone's opinions are valid, but after all these years, I still say you are beter off with one, IF you keep the car. Three of the...
  10. Extended Warranties?

I have 45 years in the dealership service business, including the last 4 at a Ford dealer (and just got my Grabber Blue '24 GT on Monday!) and I do tens of thousands of work every month, paid for by extended warranties. I usually recommend to customers to buy them right before the factory...
  11. WOW my DARK HORSE just arrived at the Dealer😁

I didn't know it was a thing either until this kid got his. I guess they don't want to pay someone to drive a several hour round trip. If mine gets hung up, you better believe I'll be going after it!
  12. WOW my DARK HORSE just arrived at the Dealer😁

The railhead here in Houston is only 20 mi from our dealership.
  13. WOW my DARK HORSE just arrived at the Dealer😁

See if your dealer can send someone after it. One of our techs ordered a '23 GT, and after it sat at the railhead for 2 weeks, the sales manager made arrangements with them and the kid went and picked up his own car and drove it back and did PDI on it himself. Has to be a dealership enployee though.
  14. clunking/small knocking when light braking

My position as well, and we receive our $ from Ford within a few days of submission. Each job has a set flat rate labor hour time, warranty or customer pay, and that is the limit, not the sky, and there is no OT. 40 years of this and my experiences are different than your friend's are, unless he...
  15. clunking/small knocking when light braking

You said "no money for them to make". I'll take warranty work all day long, just fix it and move on, no one to argue with or have to sell something to. Regardless, that does not look right to me. I don't know how someone can ignore witness marks though. You should not have to, but you might take...
  16. clunking/small knocking when light braking

I am in service at a Ford dealer, and I assure you that we get paid for warranty work, and pretty well. I don't know where the myth started that we have to do it for free, I have never worked for a manufacturer where that was the case. You said you had a Ford tech look at it, was it at the...
