Shelby's '65 GT350 was a winter project that started in late '64 to be ready for competition in SCCA in May of '65

'65 was the official release year of the Mustang, Ford was in a hurry to get the car released that they did it in the spring of '64 rather than waiting till September, as it was the standard of the time!
