  1. 2024 Mustang Dark Horse — Whipple Stage 1, 10R80 — Persistent flutter/stutter + downshift clunk. Anyone seen this? (Taking it to Ford next week)

Update: Ford cannot find any issues. Engine logs look good. Transmission logs look good. Torque converter looks good. Driveshaft alignment looks good. Frustrating. Side note: the tech that works on the car has always been a pleasure to work with. He's very thorough, and he's been on point on...
  2. 2024 Mustang Dark Horse — Whipple Stage 1, 10R80 — Persistent flutter/stutter + downshift clunk. Anyone seen this? (Taking it to Ford next week)

That's my thought as well. Plus, Whipple suggested I load the Ford Performance tune and the issue persisted. So considering it persisted across both tunes, I assume it's mechanical or a transmission mapping issue. Still with Ford, so I'm curious what they'll come back with.
  3. 2024 Mustang Dark Horse — Whipple Stage 1, 10R80 — Persistent flutter/stutter + downshift clunk. Anyone seen this? (Taking it to Ford next week)

All of the behavior I described is while driving on the stock Ford transmission tune leveraging true auto. I'm not paddle shifting or intentionally lugging. I would assume if this is the issue, Ford would be able to identify this and recal the transmission to alter the behavior. I did drop it...
  4. 2024 Mustang Dark Horse — Whipple Stage 1, 10R80 — Persistent flutter/stutter + downshift clunk. Anyone seen this? (Taking it to Ford next week)

thank you!! Ford did do the PCM reflash when I had it in a few weeks ago for the rear end replacement. My follow up is next Thurs. I’ll be sure to update the thread with the diagnosis and/or resolution once I have it.
  5. 2024 Mustang Dark Horse — Whipple Stage 1, 10R80 — Persistent flutter/stutter + downshift clunk. Anyone seen this? (Taking it to Ford next week)

I’ve had it on for about a year. It’s low mileage on that year - probably around 2.5k miles. Still have cats. Do have open air box kit and resonator delete. Because it’s consistency across all gears, I’m not ruling out an airflow issue at all.
  6. 2024 Mustang Dark Horse — Whipple Stage 1, 10R80 — Persistent flutter/stutter + downshift clunk. Anyone seen this? (Taking it to Ford next week)

I’ll try this tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendation. I just reflashed it a couple days ago, but didn’t do any meaningful pulls immediately following flash.
  7. 2024 Mustang Dark Horse — Whipple Stage 1, 10R80 — Persistent flutter/stutter + downshift clunk. Anyone seen this? (Taking it to Ford next week)

Thanks for the reply, and sorry to hear about your flash tool. I don’t know how to describe it outside of it feeling like I’m driving over sticky tape when at a constant RPM/cruise speed. Slight hesitations or flutter. Disappears as soon as I add or remove throttle. The tune I’m running is the...
  8. 2024 Mustang Dark Horse — Whipple Stage 1, 10R80 — Persistent flutter/stutter + downshift clunk. Anyone seen this? (Taking it to Ford next week)

The car: 2024 Dark Horse, Whipple Stage 1 (Ford-warrantied), 10R80 automatic, 11k miles, transmission/converter original and unmodified. Whipple's dual air intake system is part of the kit. The symptom: Flutter/stutter under load at constant RPM and speed — initially most noticeable around...

  10. Mustang Week - Who's Going??

Just got back from a little loop and saw 3. Guess visitors are waiting until tomorrow or Monday to come in.
  11. Mustang Week - Who's Going??

No. A lot of rain and a little wind. Rivers still high, but otherwise all good.
  12. Mustang Week - Who's Going??

Yes, I live in the area and will be riding around. Be sure to wave if you see me!
  13. Emergency Brake Sticking?

Update: made appointment with Ford to check it out. Diagnosis: E-brake being engaged for several days made an indention in rotors causing the shimmy and grind upon braking.
  14. Emergency Brake Sticking?

So bizarre - never had this happen on a vehicle before. Will be researching new rotors.
  15. Emergency Brake Sticking?

Thanks for the feedback, however I hadn’t washed it in several days prior to this occurring, nor had it been driven in the rain which leads me believe it might not be a rust/corrosion issue.
  16. Emergency Brake Sticking?

Hi all - I had something similar happen today. Hopped in the DH, released brake, put car in reverse to get out of garage and wouldn’t move. Tried to engage and re-engage, same thing. Finally got it to move after cutting car off then on, went for a drive and notice there’s a grind and shimmy on...
