I ran PowerStop on my last 2 Z06's and never had a problem with them for street use. Might be a different story if you track your car. They eliminated brake dust by about 90%.
Personally, there's something wrong with waiting so long for a car and then finding out it was damaged in transit. I'd refuse it and find something else.
Good question. I haven't seen anything on new pads. My car is in storage, so I have a few months to make a decision. I'll probably go with PowerStop. I've had good luck with them in the past.
I'm guessing the calipers are painted, which doesn't hold up nearly as well as powder coating. I've had calipers powder coated on several of my cars. I think the finish looks much nicer and it's much more durable. The downside is that if you do it yourself, your car is going to be down for...
That's the big question. I don't worry about it so much driving locally, but what if it occurs again when I'm traveling? I had planned on taking mine on a trip shortly after it was repaired, but was concerned about it happening again 200 miles from home. My car has been running fine since it was...
Sorry to hear about your problem. I know it's frustrating. Sounds exactly like my car. Mine wouldn't start and threw every warning light you can imagine. Eventually got it started, but it died when I put it in gear. After several attempts, I finally got it started and was able to keep it...
I couldn't agree more. We all have our likes and dislikes. To assume (you know the old saying) something about someone because of the kind of car they drive seems rather superficial to me. The kind of car you drive doesn't make you any better or less or than someone else. I've found over the...
Yes, detailing has come a very long way. I remember washing my brand new '69 Plymouth Roadrunner with Joy dish washing soap. 😳 Now I have microfiber wash mitts, over 100 microfiber towels of varying quality, an orbital buffer, polishes, etc., etc.
Yes, the OEM pads are terrible. The amount of dust they create is unbelievable. Probably going with PowerStop ceramic pads in the spring. (If they come out with them.) If not, I'll find some other brand. Had them on both of my Z06's. I hate dirty wheels.
