I was referring to the mid to late 1960's, and into the early 1970's. Most Pro Stock cars in the late 60's were running in the 9's. My SS 396 Nova (375 hp) ran 12.80's, but it was modified a little. Today's cars are much faster. :like:
An 11 second street car back in the day was extremely fast. A 12 second street car was fast. You also didn't have everyone telling you what they think you should or shouldn't do to make car faster on a public forum. 😉
Coming from a '19 Z06, I was pleasantly surprised at the number of compliments and "thumbs up" I get from people. I was driving to church this past Sunday morning when a guy in a VW SUV goes by me and gives me a thumbs up. I get a lot of compliments on the Vapor Blue at stoplights.
I don't think it looks bad. I've given thought to adding some things to my engine bay, but I'm at the point in my life where less is more. I went the carbon fiber route on my Corvettes, which cost a fortune. Going to leave the Mustang alone and enjoy it for what it is.
I think it's very cool that you have a new Mustang. What an exciting time in your life. I'm 76 years old and my only advice is to be careful. Things can happen very quickly when you're driving. You're young and hopefully have an amazing life ahead of you, but never forget you're not invincible...
