And BTW, if this is your "GET TO WORK CAR" what happens if you destroy an engine? I don't think your local Ford dealer has ten in stock! Do you have plan two to get yourself to work?
The only way I would buy the GT 350 is if it was a weekend fun car and I had very deep pockets to fix breakdowns.
I would go with the new GT that has a warranty and many nice features. Honestly there are many horror stories out there about the GT 350 engine. A friend of mine had two GT350's and both burned a lot of oil. I think your chances of getting a bad car are high. Also keep in mind that a Shelby is a...
After I read thru other posts it appears as though mounting Tender directly to the battery posts isn't a great idea since it might interfere with the Battery Control Module. I guess I'll use the fuse box positive and the ground post negative on the shock tower. I hope I can make it look neat...
Since I want a permanent mount hidden as much as possible, can I just use the two terminals on the battery under the battery cover and hide the wires? Any pictures of this install?
Maybe it has been covered but I couldn't find info by searching the site. Yesterday, I purchased a "BATTERY TENDER" brand 3 AMP Battery Charger and Maintainer.
In a few weeks my 2024 GT will be covered and put away in my home garage for the winter.
The unit has some selections. 12 Volt...
My 2024 seems a bit sluggish on a normal take off, set at normal. On the other hand, once the rpm's are up the car is fast. I would say it would smoke my 2008 GT500 (Stock 500 hp) without and problems.
The S650 has a great interior. I'm not in love with the dash but I'm sure the X-Box crowd gets...
Honestly, you will have as much fun with the Base model. It all depends on what you want in a car. If you are buying to road race, track, or drag strip, get the Base. If you intend to mod it, get the base. If you aren't into motorsports and want a comfortable car for trips and daily driving, get...
Hello! Came over from 6G. Most recent Mustangs, 2008 Shelby GT500 and 2020 BULLITT. I've had 7 Mustangs, all great cars, really enjoyed all of them.
I'm 78 and retired military. Car cruises in Western PA keeps me busy.
The attached picture of a members car caught my eye, so I bought a twin!!!
Here's an answer. In July 2024, I traded my 2008 Shelby for a 2024 GT Premium, Shadow Black/Charcoal Interior, Bronze Package, A-10 Auto, Variable Exhaust, Brembo Brake Package. My car was a bit over $56K MSRP. No cost paint, no 3:55 rear axle.
I have about 500 miles on the car at this point...
Leave the car as is if you don't use it as a drag or track car. You will have a rough ride and squeaky poly bushings. You don't go to the track or drag strip every day. Changing one or two things will probably not benefit you.
Yes, your car is a match for mine! I have the Bronze Package, Brembo Brake Package, Variable Exhaust, the A-10 Auto and GT Premium Package. The ride is decent, and the sound is great. Good luck with your good-looking GT!!!! Enjoy each day!!
Honestly, I doubt that other than a four door Mustang we won't see a GT500. First, the price of the GT500 will be beyond what most people can afford. IMHO, I would buy a new Corvette over an overpriced GT500,
Ford will zero in on an ECOBOOST 4-door to compete with the cheaper foreign labeled...
I agree with Devil Dog. I have owned a 1984 GT, an 01, an 08, an 09, and a 2020 BULLITT. In between I had a 08 Shelby GT500 and a 10 Shelby GT 500. All were manual shift cars. My 08 BULLITT was my favorite. My 2024 is a nice car, good ride and handling, great transmission (A-10), and quick. I'm...
My GT has the Bronze Package with the Brembo Brake Package. So far, the 19-inch Continentals offer a decent ride and are quiet.
The Bronze Package wheels are easy to clean, and the tire size keeps most of the debris from flying out and on the body. Maybe I'm too practical!
I bought a BLACK Mustang GT since it was a second choice to a color that FORD forgot about. I tried to find Race Red or Rapid Red but a 200 mile search by me and my FORD Dealer found no cars equipped like my black car. I wanted A-10, Brembo Brakes, Exhaust, Premium Trim, and Bronze Package or...
Other than a talking point, is there a need for the 3:55 with an A-10 since the low gear in the A-10 makes up for the difference. I've read this fact here and there on different web sites.
Again, it depends on how you use your vehicles, track, drag, grocery getter!
After owning many cars with manual shift, I just got tired of shifting gears. I've had two Shelby's with the 6 speed TREMEC. The TREMEC is better than the GT transmission.
With the improvements they have made with automatics, my performance vote goes to the auto.
So far I really like the...
