There was a mention that sometimes vehicles are selected at random for additional qc. Not saying this is the case and not saying it isnāt. Just letting it out there in case it is innocent mileage.

by chance have you been able to notice / replicate the sound with a manual transmission vehicle.

warm oil flows easier than cold oil. In my experience oil filters usually break free easier once warmed, although I will admit I havenāt experienced the joy with ours yet.
Thoughts on prefilling the filter?
The response / actions by the tech may provide a hint. If the tech was like, yeah whatās up with that, you really should get that looked at. Or if the tech was like, what sound, can you point it out?

usually she will either throw a code right away or by 50-100 miles. Different sequence of tests are completed at different mileage (engine hours)...
