Ive seen it. Again, I not saying you shouldn't do it. Im sayin on most modern engines its not doable and just isnt a big deal with modern synthetics. The coyote isnt comparable to a marine engine. Have you ever changed the filter on your own S650?
Exactly. This is something ive brought a few up but seems to get ignored. The angle you need to hold the filter to re-attach on the S650 makes pre-filling the filter almost impossible with out spilling. I asked my moble to tech to do it and he showed me how hard it is, especially if the car...
100%
Its not that im against pre-filling a filter. I do it on my classic. I just think making a big deal about it on a modern engine like a coyote is nitpicking. Unlike older cars, the amount of oil and the start-up psi in modern engines isnt going to cause oil starvation. Not to mention modern...
Depends if the motor is built or stock. I know lots guys with stroker motors in their classics that are far from run of the mill.
And you will probably hate this, but coyote swapping is all the rage right now.
Plenty of Mach 1's came with AC.
And for the record, carburetors aren't scary. People just don't understand them. I rebuilt mine myself after watching some you tube videos. Once you understand how they work and how to adjust them, the old Autolites are actually pretty reliable. Having said that...
They are nice looking cars. If the price wasnt so high, I would have considered one. Last year my local dealer had a coupe in Wimbledon White for 65k. 🤣🤦
The '70 Mach 1. And it not even close.
Im not sure what im more shocked by, the fact that you were only born in '76, or the fact that you dont know anything about carburetion. 🤣
Its not. And Mat1955 loves to flex on this. The problem is, on an S650 you have to turn the filter practically on its side when feeding it up to reattach. In which case you'll spill out most of the oil your pre-filled. So yeah, nothing like threatening violence because of an outdated and...
No you aren't crazy. Burning 1 quart every 3k miles is absolutely not normal. I want to see the Ford text that says that, and I want to know who this dealer is.
Yes, he's burning oil. Read posts above.
